About this file
This document contains questions and answers regarding solicitation number FA568223Q8045 for an automatic tube bender. The solicitation is issued by the Department of the Air Force United States Air Forces in Europe - Air Forces Africa. One question asks if rebuilt vector measuring systems would be accepted in lieu of new systems, to which the response is that a rebuilt system would be considered as long as it meets the required tolerances and the price reflects it not being new. Another question asks if an exception could be made for not offering the ability to convert the bender from right-hand to left-hand operation, which requires disassembling the stationary arm, and the response indicates that the solicitation requires the option to switch between right and left-hand operation.

A: We are willing to accept a rebuilt vector measuring system as long as it still meets the required tolerances as specified and the price reflects that it isn’t a new system.
Q: “On the bender, are you willing to make an exception on the converting the bender from RH to LH? We do not offer this option as it requires a pretty involved mechanical disassembly of removing the pressure die stationary arm.”
A: No, we would require the option of swapping from RH to LH and vice versa.
| Q: “XXXX is a company made up of all former Eaton Leonard employees. The manufacturer of the EL equipment no longer has the capabilities of building a vector measuring arm due to the fact that the manager/technician in charge of building them works f... |
