Our deployable kennel systems are designed to house working dogs in the harshest of operational climates, from +56°C to -26°C, providing a comfortable, safe and secure environment for up to four dogs per kennel unit.
Suitable for the military, police, customs and border security forces, and for use on sites in remote areas, the system has been operationally proven with great success in support of specialised working dog operations in Iraq and Afghanistan – protecting and enhancing a critical asset.
Although it is designed for redeployment, it has also been used successfully in place for several years at a time, requiring minimal maintenance once deployed and set up.
The key characteristics of the system are:
n Uses a standard 20ft CSC approved container n Gross weight: 4,500kgs (DROPS container) n Operational temperature range: +56°C to -26°C n Transportable by road, sea and air n Each container houses up to 4 dogs n Food storage & preparation area n Internal sleeping areas n Split multi-HVAC system n Secure external exercise areas n Equipment storage n Non-contaminating kennel flooring and walls n Erected in under 4 hours by 2 – 4 persons n Tool free assembly n Fire protection system n Built-in washing and drainage systems n Internal lighting and electrical sockets In addition we can provide tailored operational support packages available to cover training, spares, repairs and maintenance as required.
Internal Lining: The inner walls, ceiling and floor of the containers are insulated with suitable material.
Floor: The sleeping and exercise area floor surfaces are made from a hygienic leak proof surface.
Drainage: Two internal drainage channels divert fluids into the external drainage system.
Water Supply: A facility is provided to deliver water directly to the container for cleaning purposes.
Sleeping Area: Each dog has a walled sleeping area which provides a floor space area of approximately 2.3m².
Beds: Each sleeping area is provided with a raised bed 1m x 0.75m.
Food Area: Food is stored and prepared on a dedicated stainless steel table.
Dog Doors: Swing doors allow free access for the dog between the sleeping and exercise areas.
Internal Storage: Secure internal storage space is provided above each sleeping area for the local storage of various canine accessories such as blankets or grooming equipment.
Exercise Area: The exercise area is accessed freely from the sleeping area via the swinging dog doors. This area provides an external floor space area of approximately 3.61m².
Construction: Easy assembly without needing to use specialist tools.
Transportation: All the fixtures, fittings, external caging and HVAC units are stored internally within the container for shipping and transport purposes , which then functions as a CSC standard intermodal 20’ shipping container.
Electrical Interface & Power: The internal electrical equipment is designed for use in extreme environmental conditions for military use. The electrical installation is supplied in accordance with BS7671 17th Edition, designed to operate from military/commercial power supplies of 230V single phase at a frequency of 50Hz. External power connection is made at the disconnector switch.
Electrical Components: The ancillary electrical components provided are:
n 49' (15m) Power Cable with UK Mil Pattern Connector at the EIP end and loose terminals at the power source end.
Other connections can be provided.
n 2 x 10m Earth Cables, for connecting between the container and locally deployed earth rods (also supplied) to ensure that the system is safely electrically earthed.
n Power Distribution Panel Board (PDB), located on the wall above the food storage cupboard. The PDB contains the protective Ground Fault Interrupter (GFI) devices for internal electrical circuits.
n Twin Electrical Power Outlet, for the use of portable electrical equipment.
n The central walkway is illuminated by a twin 58W weatherproof fluorescent light unit. Each sleeping area is illuminated by a single 18W weatherproof light. All lights are controlled individually via IP55 rated switch units.
n A smoke detector is located on the ceiling of the central walkway.
HVAC system: To provide a comfortable internal environment in extreme climatic conditions, the TCDA is provided with 2 x Air Conditioning and Heating Units (ACU). Each ACU provides 5KW of cooling with 60m3 of forced fresh air per hour or 2KW of Heating. The units are of a retractable window type, split HVAC system that incorporates 2 wall mounted multi-zone internal units and a single portable external unit.
