About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file addressing vendor inquiries regarding specifications for a 48 EMS F-35 Maintenance Stand procurement.
The maintenance stand must meet the following key specifications: maximum working deck height of 9 feet from the ground with intermediate levels at 96 inches and 84 inches; self-draining decking with open kick panels that allow tools and fasteners to fall through without size restrictions; two utility panels per stand featuring four quick-disconnect air ports and GFI-protected duplex receptacles; dual-voltage electrical service (110/220V) at 30/60 amp capacity; and air auto-rewind reels positioned on the deck level for maintainer use while connecting to building or AGE portable air compressors. The scope of work includes delivery, set-up, inspection, and initial use training. Air manifolds must be flush-mounted or stationed on the main deck rail to prevent tripping hazards, with utility consoles grouped with electrical outlets (two per side for 110V/230V and 400Hz power) and emergency shut-off switches. No technical supporting documents or specifications were provided to guide design efforts. The procurement does not specify response dates, award dates, pricing terms, set-asides, or federal contract vehicles.

Maximum Deck Height is 9ft from the ground.
2) Are there any technical supporting documents and/or specifications that may support efforts to design the stand to fulfil the operational requirement? No
3) Does the scope include delivery only, or also installation, commissioning, inspection, training and ongoing support
a) Should include Delivery, Set-up, inspection, and initial use training.
4) The decking is required to be self-draining and designed without openings that would allow small tools or fasteners to fall through. Can you please confirm the maximum allowable size openings?

a) 110/220V services to allow dual-voltage capability. 30/60Amp services.
7) Are the air auto-rewind reels for use on deck level or for connecting air from building to platform?
a) Building or AGE portable air compressor hookup to the stand ports. Reels on Deck level for Maintainer use.
8) How many relocatable positions are required for each electric outlet type and air service?
a) Deck Integration: Air manifolds are typically flush-mounted or stationed on the main deck rail to prevent tripping hazards. Utility Consoles: Usually grouped with electrical outlets 2 Per Side (e.g., 110V/230V, 400Hz power) and emergency shut-off switches.
