MEMORANDUM FOR RECORD
SUBJECT: Solicitation Number FA5587-17-Q-0081, Unaccompanied Housing Office
Dormitory Locks Site Visit at RAF Mildenhall.
1. A site visit for the subject solicitation was held on 29 August 2017 at 0900-1045 hours at
RAF Mildenhall. The following information will be posted on the Federal Business
Opportunities website. The following buildings were visited:
RAF Mildenhall
a. Building 107, Dormitory room.
b. Building 108, Dormitory room.
c. Building 111, Dormitory room.
d. Building 210, Dormitory room/ Kiosk room.
2. The following questions were asked and the answers are provided:
1) Question: Is this requirement to extend the existing system?
Response: Yes.
2) Question: RAF Lakenheath use a magnetic strip (the RF10), is this something that RAF
Mildenhall wants to do?
Response: No, RAF Mildenhall require the magnet strip in accordance with the current system capability. Please see attachment 1.
3) Question: Can the Government clarify the number of rooms in each building?
Response: Yes, please see attachment 1 (updated).
4) Question: Do you want the contractor to dispose of the current locks, once removed?
5) Question: Will maps be provided to the contractor?
Response: Yes, upon contract award.
6) Question: The industry standard for delivery/installation is 60-90 days, does this meet out timescale?
Response: Yes, 60-90 days ARO is acceptable.
7) Question: Is one kiosk required in building 210?
Response: Yes, only one kiosk is required. The kiosk is to be situated in the SOW dormitory where the CCTV camera is located. This must be a stand-alone machine for the key cards.
Step by step instructions on how use the kiosk, to get a card will also be required.
8) Question: What key card access do you want for residents?
Response: For the key card programming aspect, the residents will need access to a dormitory room, a laundry room and the recreational/day room.
9) Question: Do we require the contractor to quote for complete installation of all works?
10) Question: Can you confirm the number of existing Onity locks that are installed in the relevant dormitories?
Response: Yes. The total number of existing Onity locks are 126.
Additional Information
Room 111 –124 rooms and 11 extra rooms. A total of 135 rooms will require card access
(accessed via external doors). This includes laundry rooms and day rooms in the building. 1 main door is currently secured with a panic bar internally.
Room 107 – 144 rooms and 23 extra rooms (accessed via external doors). A total of 167 rooms will require card access.
Room 108 – 89 rooms – dorm rooms accessed internally. 6 Access swipes required for external entrances. 6 main doors are currently secured with a panic bars internally. We have a total of 21 extra rooms to include the 6 main doors. The 2nd and 3rd floor has two day rooms, also we would like to include the storage rooms, studies, laundry rooms, and janitor closet.

Dorm 108 = 110
Dorm 107 = 167
Total = 402
