Questions ① Is our understanding correct that the 'Reagent / Blank Water' in Table 1 is the PFAS-free water needed for PFAS analysis?

Yes, Reagent / Blank Water is PFAS-free water needed for PFAS analysis.

② Regarding the qualification in PWS 1.2, although our laboratory is not NVLAP/ELLAP accredited, we are fully capable of performing asbestos and lead analyses in accordance with the specified methods. As we are certified and registered as a Keiryou Shoumei Jigyousho (Measurement Certification Business) by Okinawa prefecture, does this meet the requirement?

Yes, your registration as a Keiryou Shoumei Jigyousho by Okinawa Prefecture is accepted.

③ Regarding the report submission deadline in PWS 1.1.7, depending on the type of sample, it may not feasible to meet the requirement. What should we do in this case?

Please notify the Government of the estimated delivery date by email.

④With regard to the price list required, as stated in Solicitation P.3, is our understanding correct that we should complete the provided price list form (Attachment 2) with the prices and submit it by email as an attachment? Or, as stated in Solicitation P.9, are items (a) through (f), such as the effective date, the representative’s signature, and submission of the original copy, required? Yes, the price list should be filled out and submitted with your quote.

⑤With regard to asbestos listed in Table 3 (Attachment 2, Price list), three analysis methods are listed. Is our understanding correct that the requested analysis will be one of these methods?

Yes, requested asbestos analysis will be performed using one of the three specified methods identified in Table 3 (Attachment 2, Price list).

⑥Regarding the items listed in Table 1(Attachment 2, Price list), please let us confirm the following items..

No. 1 Total Coliforms No. 15, 16 Nitrate, Nitrite

If we send the above items to a U.S. lab for analysis, it will be difficult to comply with the holding times (Sample retention period) because their allowable holding times are short.

Accordingly, to guarantee analytical accuracy and quality, could you please approve to perform the analyses at our laboratory in accordance with the following methods.

・No.1 Total Coliforms:SM9223 ・No.15, 16 Nitrate, Nitrite:Japan MHLW Notice 261-13 Methods SM9223 and Japan MHLW Notice 261-13 are acknowledged and confirmed as acceptable for analysis by your laboratory.
