The site orientation was conducted at 1430 hrs on 13 Jun 16 as specified in the subject RFQ. We have received questions regarding subject RFQ from prospective vendors, and the following are our answers.

Q15: Please let us know what type of cat6 shall we use. Do we have to use CMR cable meeting UL 1666?

Or, is the eco cable(EM-PVC, JIS) acceptable?

A15: Plenum UTP.

Q16: Please let us know which cable color shall we select for Cat6 cable. Blue for TEL or Green for Data?

A16: Contractor can choose one (1) color from either Gray, Green or Blue (preferred).

Q17: If the answer is blue cable, shall we have to install 100 blocks inside the rack by contractor?

A17: Blue cable can be punched down into a standard rack mount panel. 110 type back RJ45 front. Rack mount panel need to be prepared by contractor.

Q18: Do we have to install ground cable and bus bar inside the rack?

A18: Ground cable and bus bar will be installed by Cable Shop.

Q19: Does the Cat6 cable need to be Plenum rated? The PWS just stated "CAT6 network cable" and there is a significant price difference in Plenum vs Non-Plenum.

A19: All cables should be plenum type cables.

Q20: How J-Hook should be utilized?

A20: J-Hooks will be installed above the false ceiling, and in intervals of 3-5ft.

Q21: What type of a Rack will be provided by the Government?

A21: Make: Chatsworth, Serial No.: 0167680611. The attendees saw the actual rack at the site.

Q22: Does a Rack need to be anchored?

A22: Yes.

Q23: Does the Government have a diagram for old cables?

A23: No.

Q24: At what height do four port outlets need to be installed?

A24: Outlets need to be installed to the same height of existing LAN outlet. If possible install outlets 1 ft from the floor. However, some outlets will be installed 3 ft from the ceiling due to shelves.

Q25: How will the evaluation be done for offer in US Dollar?

A25: Evaluation will be made by Japanese Yen at the FY16 exchange rate of $1=Y121.83.

Q26: Ceiling seems weak.

A26: If ceiling or other Government property is damaged by contractor (excluding minor damage, e.g. small peeling paint), contractor needs to fix it at contractor’s cost.

Q27: Does the Government prepare a switch and patch panel?

A27: The Government will install the switch and associated jumpers from switch to patch panel.

Q28: Raceway- for Panduit, they are not handling any Raceway here in Japan. So, is Japanese-made white or same color raceway acceptable?

A28: Japanese raceway is sufficient, as long as it matches up with the outlet (gang box), and is of the same color as the rest of the raceway and outlets.

We will issue an amendment shortly to revise RFQ/PWS to incorporate any necessary changes as a result of the above clarification.
