About this file

This document contains questions and answers regarding the removal of existing changing stations and replacement at the Kodiak CDC facility. The contractor will remove three existing changing stations located in rooms 9 and 15, with two stations being removed from room 15. The contractor is responsible for moving any furniture and equipment out of the work areas and covering or storing items that cannot be moved. An existing water fountain in room 5 will be demolished along with its sink. It is unknown whether the current changing stations sit directly on the floor or vinyl flooring. There is no surplus vinyl flooring in storage, so the statement of work may need to be updated to include replacing flooring if damaged during construction. Asbestos testing found no asbestos in the walls.

The related federal contract opportunity is solicitation number FA500023R0020 for changing tables at the Kodiak CDC, issued by the Department of the Air Force Pacific Air Forces.

Kodiak CDC Changing Table Questions and Answers Verifying only 3 existing changing stations are to be removed: 2 in room 15, one in room 9 -The statement of work has:

Contractor shall remove existing changing stations in rooms 9 and 15. I can change wording to: In Room 9 existing changing station will be removed and in room 15 two changing statin will be removed.

Will furniture in rooms be cleared from the work areas; or is that the responsibility of the contractor?

-Contractors will move furniture and equipment out of the room while working in the designated area. The center POC will designate where items can be stored. For the items that cannot be moved the contractors will cover items.

In Room 5, is the water fountain being replaced or demo’d?

-We would demo with the sink.

Do the current stations in Rooms 5, 9 and 15 sit on the floor or will there be vinyl flooring repair when those come up?

- I do not know what the stations sit on, floor or vinyl

Do you have surplus vinyl floor in storage?

-No extra vinyl flooring. If we need to add to Statement of work that flooring would need to be replaced caused by construction operations.

Is there any known asbestos?

-Asbestos testing was conducted on the walls, and no asbestos found in walls.
