About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers file containing clarifications on audio/visual and technology requirements for facility renovations involving multiple meeting and event spaces.

The requirements include: moving center room wall plates to the back of the room with removal of existing microphone inputs and front-facing boxes; installing a minimum of 4 speakers rated at 60 watts minimum in the center room over the dance floor to provide full coverage with no dead spots and complete sound range; upgrading projectors to a minimum of 7000 lumens (with consideration for 8000 lumens given existing lift infrastructure); and implementing a short throw projector for the stage to prevent shadows during awards, recognition ceremonies, and speaker presentations. The Bernie Fisher room currently contains 6 speakers, a Sony XGA VPL-PX35 projector, and an episode ECA-70MIXAMP1-60 A/V system. The central section requires loudspeakers and amplifiers capable of supporting a modern dance floor with subwoofers, with wall-mounted speakers on soffits acceptable as an alternative to additional ceiling speakers. For microphones, ceiling-mounted units are required in three smaller Teams rooms, though wireless microphones are acceptable for Teams sessions in the central room if ceiling installation proves challenging. The facility contains 4 audio zones in the main ballroom and 1 in the Bernie Fisher. Installation is proposed for late December through the first week of February to avoid disruption during the holiday season.

1. move center room wall plates to the back of the room. Do we delete the existing mic inputs and cover the boxes in the front ? Yes move to the back of room and removal of existing mic inputs and cover box in the front of the room.

2. add 4 minimum 60 watt speakers to the center room over the dance floor. The minimum is 60 watts and the speakers need to cover the entire space with no dead spots and allow for a full range of sound. I have had outside vendors state they could do it with less then 4 speakers when we conduct market research.

3. Since the lifts are staying in place, do you want to change the projectors to 8000 lumen ?

The minimum is 7000 lumens and that is based upon 3 outside vendors coming in and providing their input of what the minimum lumens would be for the room.

4. Could you remind me what the name of the room is that is on the left hand side as you walk in from outside? And the associated specs? I believe this is the Bernie Fisher. It currently has 6 speakers, Sony XGA VPL-PX35 projector, and episode ECA-70MIXAMP- 1-60 A/V system.

1.

Is a short throw projector preferred for the stage so dancers don’t cast shadows?

Short throw projector is preferred for when awards, recognition ceremonies, or speakers are on the stage so that there can be an image displayed in the background of the picture and the projector is not blinding anyone on stage.

2. Please advise what cameras are need to support Teams in the various rooms.

Would IR control be acceptable to point the cameras or is touch panel control or Ai needed? All I need is a camera that can be used during Teams meeting to show who is in the room when the meeting occurs. I would assume the cameras are in a fixed position and the control just needs to be user friendly. AI is not needed

3. Confirm you want the central section to be provided with loudspeakers/amplifiers capable of supporting a modern dance floor.

The center ballroom needs to have sound covering the entire section with subwoofers.

4. Confirm that wall mounted speakers (on the soffits) would be acceptable to deliver the power/coverage as an alternative to more ceiling speakers.

Yes wall mounted would be acceptable.

5. Microphones. Confirm Ceiling mounted microphones are required in the three smaller Teams rooms. Confirm It is acceptable to use the wireless microphones for Teams sessions in the Central room.

Ceiling mounted microphones would be preferred but I understand that it might be a challenge in some of the rooms to have ceiling mounted which would make wireless microphones acceptable for Teams Sessions.

6. Confirm that there are four audio zones: not eight.

There are 4 audio zones in the main ballroom and 1 in the Bernie Fisher

7. Please identify the locations of the wall-plates I believe the best location for wall plates would be the same location they are currently located. The only one that needs to be moved is the one in the center ballroom. I would like for it to be moved to the back of the room, by the doors.

8. Please supply floor layout and if possible reverse ceiling diagrams. I believe those were sent to CONS by SSgt Orozco.

9. Do you know if the stage floor is strong enough to support a small lift. I am not in CE and would not be able to provide specifications on the weight capacity for the stage. I’m sure it could but, I am not an expert on that.

10. We would suggest an installation plan for January February when the Holiday season is over. Would that be acceptable? I believe that would be the best option and I would prefer to start in late December and end by the first week of February.
