Text version

Regarding amendment #1, Attachment 7 – Q and A, the response to question #3 states that “the DoD Approved Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier list updated June 2019 lists a Barrier1 Systems Inc. with a M50 rating and up to 34’ span. This Barrier1 gate you refer to is a surface mounted, manual operated gate and crash tested at 34’. It only raises vertically up to 18’. It also only has a P3 penetration rating and you stated in the response to question #6 that your preferred a P2 penetration.

Response to question #5 states that a 20’ clear span is required for the Emergency Service Vehicles.

There is no operated drop arm barrier on the DoD Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier list with a 20’ clear opening span. At this point we will not be able to bid this project because there is no drop arm barrier that meets your requirements based on the Q & A responses.

An acceptable operated drop arm barrier for this project should be a drop arm barrier that is on the DoD Anti-Ram Vehicle Barrier list and is engineered to a 20’ clear opening with a M50 (K12) crash rating and a P2 or P3 (L2 or L1) or better penetration rating. Examples of these barriers would be a HySecurity M50/P2, Nasatka K12/L3 NMSB XII Crash Beam, Delta Scientific K12/L3 DSC 7000 Barrier, ect. Please let me know if this will be approved?

The barrier is capable of being electrically powered and span 20’. The requirement was for the K12/M50, which the barrier has. The response to question #6 can be disregarded as a P3 penetration rating is also acceptable.
