001There are two separate rooms that require new equipment? The VTC equipment (projectors, comm “closet wiring”, etc will be stored in Room 115 (projector room-comm closet) as this building does not have actually room numbers. However, the conference Room “Rm 114” is where the leadership sit around the table and have speakers on the ceiling and microphones on the tables. Essentially, the VTC equipment and setup is in a room behind the actual conference room.
002Rm 114 is used to describe both rooms in the SOW. What are the correct Names and Numbers for each room?Again, we don’t actually have room numbers, but we can say room 114 is conference room and 115 is comm closet.
003Are basic dimensions and layouts available for each room?Conference Room – 1140.88 sq ft, and the comm closet-projector room is 255.86 sq ft
004SOW Section 2.1How many classified and non-classified source devices (PCs, Media players, etc) and locations are there? There’s 1 unclassified laptop in Room 114, and 1 unclassified desktop computer in 115.
005SOW Section 2.2Will the VTC equipment be located inside the room, or will it be located in one or more network closets? The VTC equipment will be stored in Rm 115, projector room-comm closet.
006SOW Section 2.1What is the approximate distance to the nearest NIPR and SIPR closets? There needs to be a minimum of 20 inches of separation between unclassified (NIPR) and classified (SIPR) VTC cabinets.
007SOW Section 2.1d. Will separate cabinets and or physical separation be required for each system?Yes.
008SOW Section 2.1Is all cabling between the displays, VTCs, cameras, and source devices required to be fiber?End user is Unsure. At this time please provide quote without all cabeling being fiber.
009SOW Section 2.1VTC systems generally utilize two displays. Does the Government prefer ONE display or TWO displays for each VTC system?2 displays, as when we conduct either an unclassified VTC or classified VTC, we prefer dual displays. We are looking to have 2 projectors to display our video teleconference as opposed to a large format tv monitor.
010SOW Section 2.2Does the Government require SEPERATE display(s) for classified and un-classified systems, or will both systems SHARE the same display(s)?Both will share the same displays with 2 codecs per the SOW. This question is confusing so I need further clarifications about what you are asking.
011SOW Section 2.1Single displays over 100” are difficult to procure. Will the Government accept a multi monitor “video wall” type solution for each display? We are looking to have 2 projectors to display our video teleconference as opposed to a large format tv monitor. We need clarification on how the NIPR and SIPR VTC will send the signal to the video wall? Both can’t be displayed at the same time.
012SOW Section 2.1How many cameras are preferred for each system?1 camera
013SOW Section 2.1Does the Government require SEPERATE cameras for the classified and non-classified systems, or will both systems SHARE the same cameras?Separate cameras are not required.
014SOW Section 2.1Does the Government require the video switching, distribution, and control systems be SEPARATE for the classified and un-classified systems, or can this be SHARED?We need clarification on what type of video switching, distribution and control system equipment will be utilized and how they function in order to determine whether they need to be SEPARATE or not.
015SOW Section 2.1What type of microphones are preferred (ceiling, desktop, handheld, lapel, or some combination)?Yes.
016SOW Section 2.1How many microphones of each type are required? We’re requesting at least 10 microphones to placed at the conference room table.
017SOW Section 2.1The Government ACCEPTS that the speakers and microphones will be shared between the classified and un-classified systems?Yes.
018SOW Section 2.2Will this room be used for both classified and un-classified presentations?Yes.
019SOW Section 2.2will only a SINGLE display be required? We request the ability t have dual display whether operating in an unclassified VTC, classified VTC, zoom meeting, etc. Need more clarification about this question.
020SOW Section 2.2How many classified and non-classified source devices (PCs, Media players, etc) and locations are there? There’s 1 unclassified laptop in Room 114, and 1 unclassified desktop computer in 115.
021SOW Section 2.2Will the Government accept a multi monitor “video wall” type solution for the display? We are looking to have 2 projectors to display our video teleconference as opposed to a large format tv monitor. We need clarification on how the NIPR and SIPR VTC will send the signal to the video wall? Both can’t be displayed at the same time.
022Do you have pictures or a layout of the place?See attached conference room layout & Drawing
023Do you have the dimensions of the room?See attached layout & drawing and above question with square footage
024Do you currently have an Audio Video solution in the room ? If so do you have any reusable equipment – specifically an equipment rack?Possibly, please see attached pics
025Currently do you use podiums or desks for your computers, if you have an existing system?Podium
026Can you offer any pictures of the room? With current equipment or notSee attached.
027Do you have a drop ceiling with tiles?Yes, the ceiling is tiles.
0281. Please clarify RFI 001, SOW 2.1.2.1, and 2.2.2.1:
SOW 2.1.2.1 states: “Furnish, install, configure, and test wall-mountable large format television(s) in Rm 114, Wing VTC conference room.”In short, the information is just a repeat as I want to ensure if we purchase a large format television that it’s installed by the contractor and that it is operational.
029And SOW 2.2.2.1 states: “Furnish, install, configure, and test large format television(s) on the north wall of Rm 226, Conference Room and ceiling-mounted speakers.”This is erroneous as we do not have a Rm 226, but essentially. In short, the information is just a repeat as I want to ensure if we purchase a large format television that it’s installed by the contractor and that it is operational.
030Do these sections refer to (a) the same “televisions” to be installed in the same room or (b) is there a separate second conference room that only requires televisions or (c) one set of televisions for the VTC and additional television(s) for presentations in the same room?Only 1, which will be in the conference room. I am attaching additional docs for a visual display.
0312. If SOW sections 2.1 and 2.2 refer to two separate functions, VTC and Presentation, in the same room, can these function systems SHARE resources such as displays, video switching and distribution, sources, speakers, etc. or are SEPARATE systems required for each function?Yes, they should be able to share the same resources.
0323. The Title of the SOW and several sections state, “Large Format Television Solution” and “Large Format Television Acquisition” but answers to RFI 009 and 011 seem to indicate the Government prefers to continue using a rear projection system. Do we need to present the Large Format Television option, the rear Projection option, or both?I wrote the SOW so that I can have options, either larget format television OR projectors. I am looking for the best option that will show large/clear visuals for unclassified VTCs, presentations, and secure VTCs, Zoomgov, or MS Teams teleconferences.
0334. If the Large Format Television Option is chosen who will be responsible to rebuild the wall where the opening for the projection screen is now located, the Government or the Vendor? The Government through our Civil Engineering department will rebuild the wall.
0345. SOW section 1.2states: “… A Digital Media Switcher must be used to support fiber isolation switching …”. This statement contains two mutually exclusive options. (a) “Fiber isolation switching” implies that an optical A/B switch, such as those from DiCon or Agiltron, is used to switch the video signals from the displays and camera between the CLASSIFIED and unclassified codecs. This option requires all cabling between the AB switch, codecs, displays, and camera to be fiber optic. It also requires the use of HDMI to Fiber transceivers at each device. See attached diagram. (b) “A Digital Media Switcher” implies the use of a Crestron 8x8 DM matrix switch, or similar device. In this option all video sources and displays are connected to the switch, and the switch can route any source to any display. The input and output connections on the switch can be configured with native HDMI, HDbT Cat6, DM fiber, or any combination. The matrix switch option may not provide the level of isolation required. See attached diagram. (c) a third option is to use separate distribution systems. In this option the video from each codec is run separately to each display. The displays are then switch between the CLASSIFIED and unclassified systems. I.e., HDMI Input 1 is unclassified and HDMI Input 2 is CLASSIFIED on each display. This requires running additional cables to each display. It will also require the use of separate cameras for each codec. See attached diagram. Which of these options is ACCECTABLE and PREFERED by the Government?Either option works for me as long as the required distance is separated between Classified and Unclassifed cabling.
0356. SOW Section 2.1.1 states “ … ceiling mounted microphones … ” and RFI 016 states “ …at least 10 microphones to placed at the conference room table.” Does the Government request ceiling microphones or table microphones?I would prefer table microphones but I am open to either. Whatever will guarantee clear sound and works.
0367. If table microphones are chosen, does the Government request movable microphones for one or more participants, or can the microphones be permanently mounted along the centerline of the table?I prefer the microphones along the center of the table and 2 specifically at the head of the table for the Wing Leadership.
0378. If Permanent Tabletop microphones are chosen, our design only requires 4 microphones to cover the entire table, not the 10 as stated in RFI 016, see attached diagram. Is this 4-microphone solution acceptable?Maybe, it depend on the size and capabilities of your microphones. I really can’t answer this question truthfully.
0389. What is the pathway between the table and the equipment rack, conduit size, and fill?do not understand the question.
03910. Is there power available at the table?Yes
04011. If ceiling microphones are chosen, Do the microphones need to cover just the table or the whole room?Prefer table microphones
041• SOW Section 2.2.1 states “Planar display monitors ARE NOT on the APL listing and are therefore unauthorized.” Display monitors are not considered information network devices. There are no displays or projectors from any manufacturers listed on the DoDIN APL web site referenced in SOW section 1.2 (a). if only items listed on the APL web site are authorized then no display or projector can be provided. Please specified where a list of acceptable displays and projectors is located. Or will any display or projector, including Planar, that meet all other included FAR and DFARS requirements be acceptable?Per the SOW: DISA-provided approved product guide memorandum (APL Memo) associated with each certified device. (https://aplits.disa.mil/processAPList.action)

• Implementation guidelines listed in the DISA Security Technical Implementation Guidance (STIG). (https://iase.disa.mil/stigs/Pages/index.aspx)

04212. SOW Section 2.1.1 states “… CLASSIFIED material will only be sourced from approved CLASSIFIED computers …”, and RFI 004 only lists the number and locations of the unclassified computers. Will the CLASSIFIED computer be at the same location as the unclassified computer, i.e., laptop at the podium, or at a different location in the room? No, classified computer will be in safe. However, I want to ensure for Classified VTCs we can bridge through and dial into Classifed VTC GVS.
04313. If the CLASSIFIED computer is to be located at the same location as the unclassified computer, is physical separation between the HDMI connections and cabling back to the two VTCs required?Classified laptop and unclassified laptop/computer will not be connected or near one another at any time or for any reasons.
04414. Can the SIPR and NIPR share a VTC camera ? Since the room will have two codecs one camera per codec will work better to keep each camera feed separate.
Yes, they can share the same computer as long as there are 2 different codecs

045 15. Could we also get the exact dimensions of the current rear projection screen?
