1. Question and answer 4 of the attached states, “4. Can you identify within the Attachment #1 drawing, the drops that are existing and the drops that are new? They are all existing drops except the wifi drops located in the hallway. Reference SOO”.
0. Per the attached SOO, no information on WIFI drops are contained within the SOO. Please advise. Disregard my initial response on wifi drops. The drops that are new are the 2x dual drops located in the main hallway.
1. Please provide size specifications for new cabinet?
Provide/install 24”W x 32”D x 84”H lockable floor mount cabinet with cooling fans, and internal rails to support 19 inch equipment; basis of design is Great Lakes. Cabinet shall be securely anchored to the floor. Cabinet shall have adequate clearance IAW UFC3-580-01, paragraph 2-4.4.4.
1. Please provide “power” requirements as stated in section 3.2.10? Our installation does not require power, however I am sure the base will need power for switches etc. We do not know what they will be installing in the cabinet therefore we cannot determine their power requirements.
Cabinet shall have dedicated quadruplex NEMA 5-20 receptacle installed within the cabinet on one of the side panels near the top. Install a vertical rack mount power distribution unit within the back end of the cabinet.
1. Please provide a legend for sketch 2? There are new symbols on sketch 2 that do not correspond to the original sketch 1 legend. Blue triangles(Quad) and green squares(dual) are assumed to be the same from sketch 1, what do the blue crosses, blue circles, and yellow triangles represent? Correct, blue triangles (Quad) and green squares (dual). The blue crosses indicate a 6-port floor box. The circles are drops that will remain as is and not be replaced. The yellow triangle is dual fiber drops that will remain as is and not be replaced. Also, there are secured cables that will not be replaced as part of this initiative and are physical red in color. Although, these drops are not indicated on the sketches, they will be identified prior to project start.
1. Are all locations shown on sketch 2 to be routed to the existing closet or the new closet?
In sketch 1, all drops will route to the new comm cabinet located in the media room. In sketch 2, all drops will route to the existing comm cabinet located in the command post.
1. Do all of the locations on sketch 2 require surface mounted raceway (SIPR) as most SIPR locations do? These locations were not part of the original walk thru, therefore we did not have an opportunity to inspect those areas. In Sketch 2, all drops are NIPR only which do not require a raceway.
0. The questions and answers that were posted, question #4 refers to wifi drops located in the hallway, I do not see these on any print, please clarify? Disregard my initial response on wifi drops. All drops in sketch 1 and 2 are existing drops. The drops that are new are the two dual drops located in the main hallway.
1. Please clarify section 3.2.1, Route new CAT 6 cabling to a new full size cabinet in the media room, as shown in sketch 1. Existing cabling installed under the Command Post renovation project shall stay in the existing communications rooms/closets. New cable installations will terminate where the existing LAN cabling is terminated, refer to sketch 1
This statement contradicts itself, all new cabling is to go to the new cabinet but then goes on to say new cabling will terminate where existing LAN cabling is terminated???
In sketch 1, all drops will route to the new comm cabinet located in the media room. In sketch 2, all drops will route to the existing comm cabinet located in the command post.
