We made some adjustments to the SOO. We identified areas in Command Post that will require the rewire and an installation of a comm. cabinet in the media room. Due to the changes, we will extend the close date for this solicitation to now be 8/31/2021 at 1600 EDT. Answers to questions submitted are below.
1. Will the building be occupied during the construction? Yes
1. Can you provide pictures of the existing comm room that is located in the secured area? No
1. If any of the runs are over the maximum allowable length, where would the IDF panel be required to be installed? None of the runs will be over the maximum allowable length
1. Can you identify within the Attachment #1 drawing, the drops that are existing and the drops that are new? They are all existing drops except the wifi drops located in the hallway. Reference SOO
1. What type of labels will be required for the cable ends and faceplates? Must use label maker for labeling. The labels around the cable must wrap around them.
· Is the client open to adding a second cabinet to allow for ease of installing the new drops and decommissioning the drops that will be removed…? Yes, please see revised SOO for second location of the second cabinet.
· We would propose, adding a second cabinet in place of the empty 2 post rack to the left of the existing cabinet.
· Patch panels and respective switches for the new scope could be installed in the new cabinet, leaving only fiber jumpers between the existing cabinet and the new cabinet.
· We would add a short ladder tray between the tops of the cabinets.
· What access or pathway provisions exist under the floor between the IDF closet and the Conference room?
· If no wire management is present under the floor does the client wish to add either conduit pathway or cable try between the IDF and the Conference room? Yes
· What access within the conference room is present to get under the raised floor?
· The carpet tiles may present an issue lifting out the raised floor tiles… (If there is raised floor through-out the facility). There is a crawl space from outside of the facility.
· Does the client desire any wire management (over and above J-Hock pathway) cable tray above the ceiling in the hallways of the facility?
· We can provide an add alternate for this if there is some desire to upgrade the pathway. Reference revised SOO section 3.2.8
· Can you verify that the Cabling System will be a Berk-Tek/Leviton: CX6300 | CAT 6 PREMIUM+ UTP SYSTEM? Yes
· What are the Warranty requirements for this project? Standard Manufacturer’s warranty for the material
Does this project call for new fiber optic cables? Or will this project only require new Cat 6 cables to be installed? Reference revised SOO.
In the Combined Synopsis & Solicitation and in the Title of the project it references Fiber Optic cabling upgrades, but In the Premise Wiring SOO documents the only time I see fiber being referenced is under 3.3 Cable removal. Am I missing something or miss understanding something? I just want to make sure I understand the entire scope of work and what will be required for this project. With the revised SOO, installation of fiber is required between cabinets. Reference SOO.
