Contractor RFI Questions & Government Response

Q1: Will staging be allowed around building for materials?

A1: Staging will be allowed nearby in an approved area that does not impede any traffic or work continuing in the opposite phase.

Q2: Will an office trailer be allowed?

A2: Yes there is space in the surrounding area for an office trailer. Approval will be obtained for the final location before bringing the trailer.

Q3: When will we have a copy of the sign-in sheet?

A3: The sign-in sheet was posted on FBO on 9 Apr 18.

Q4: Please confirm that Room 118 does not exist in the Northwest corner of Room 119, Machine Shop.

A4: Room 118 does exist and is in that corner.

Q5: At the job walk, it was observed that doors on rooms 103, 104, 105 and 106 within room 119 all would have lead based paint, as well as many other doors in the south-end sheet metal shops i.e. rm 111, 101. The plans only call for LBP abatement on Room 107 door. Please confirm no other doors are to have the LBP sealed and prepared for new paint coating systems.

A5: Correct there is no work to be done on or near doors to rooms 103, 104, 105, 106, 111, and 101.

They should be protected in place and remain undisturbed.

Q6: Please advise if there is any area that requires asbestos abatement as there is nothing noted on the drawings.

A6: Refer to Appendix A of Specification Section 02 85 00.00 20.

Q7: Please advise working hours within the different phases?

A7: The government project manager will be working between the hours 0700 – 1700 however there are no restrictions or requirements due to the building occupants within the phases.
