Fieldhouse PA System- Q&As

2 November 2020

1. Are the ceilings hard lid or suspension? Both

2. What are the heights of the various rooms? See Attachments 6-8.

3. Will we have access during working hours or will we have to work when the bldg. is unoccupied? Yes, you will have access during working hours and when the building is unoccupied.

4. Please provide a list of required equipment the Govt. wants installed. The contractor shall provide equipment to meet the performance standards of this requirement.

5. How many different “ZONES” of audio do you foresee? (i.e. different audio/music in PT area, -vs- pool area or strength/cardio room) I know 1.4 sec B states “Paging and music capabilities at a minimum” but surely you’d want the ability to separate these into different program zones, no? No, just 1 zone.

6. In addition to outputs, how many different INPUTs do you want? This goes along with question number 5. I would “assume” a microphone at the reception counter, any others elsewhere? Admin office? If you do want multiple audio output zones, then the system controller has to ae some routing/mixing capability. Should there be an analog input jack in the cardio or PT rooms for a trainer to hook up a phone/tablet (audio device) for their program material? Paging and music only. No multiple zones.

7. Would 100% of the audio routing /volume controls be at the reception desk area? No secondary control from the Admin office? No portable tablet-type control? I see the wall mounted PAC on the drawings provided, how large is the box provided? Yes, no secondary control from admin office.

8. 1.4 sec C alludes to “coaxial cables” which should not be inclusive in a modern audio system deployment. Does this SOW also include CCTV or other systems not mentioned in the solicitation documents? ( I can do CCTV as well, I’m just looking for clarification) No CCTV; removed from the SOW and updated in Attachment 2- SOW dated 26 Oct 2020.

9. 30 days for contract completion is not much time, considering highly possible longer lead times for materials in the COVID 19 world and just due to the size of the job. Any vendor who doesn’t already have shelf stock of all major system components would be hard-pressed to make 30 days after award. The period of performance has changed to 45 calendar days after award and updated in Attachment 1- RFQ dated 26 Oct 2020 and Attachment 2- SOW dated 26 Oct 2020.

10. Are there photos of the facility in addition to the drawings? Can there be from site survey? See Attachment 5

11. Speakers in the pool area: wall mount vs ceiling mount? Ceiling mount J-box

12. Lobby and admin areas: grid tile ceiling or hard lid? Hard lid with J-box

13. 1.3 cites: “After the PA system installation phase the contractor should present a fully operable system reflecting the requirements of 1.5 of the SOW” Where is section 1.5?

should that be the Sect. 2.0 Deliverables section? Government error; SOW updated to reflect Section 1.4 in Attachment 2- SOW dated 26 Oct 2020.

14. Can you provide a reflected ceiling plan or photos that show the types of ceilings in each area of the complex? See Attachment 5

15. Can you provide elevations that show the height of each ceiling within the facility? See Attachment 5

16. Are you looking for (01) Zone of Paging for All Speakers? Or Multiple Zones to page certain areas or certain floors? 1 zone

17. Would you like to access and page from any designated telephone set in the building? Or a single desktop with a single desktop MIC? Single desktop MIC

18. This system will be capable of Background Music. Are we providing the Background Music Source? Or will that be determined at a later date? At a later date

19. Are we or are you providing a multiple input/output mixer source? (This mixer source could provide various inputs and outputs such as a Music Source AM/FM/CD, Internet, Emergency Evacuation Notice, Wireless Microphones, Motorola Radios, Pre-Scheduled Atomic Clock or a Multiple Tone Generator for broadcasting other signal sources). The contractor shall provide and meet the performance standards of this requirement.

20. Or are we just setting up Speakers only to eventually interface with any of the above?

The contractor shall provide and meet the performance standards of this requirement.

21. Do you have drawings of the building that include a reflective ceiling plan as well as a height of the ceiling in each area? If not can you provide the ceiling height and ceiling type in each of the areas that speakers will be installed? See Attachment 5

22. Are the PA controllers/ mics that are located in the Reception and Administration office to be mounted in the wall or on a desk? Desk

23. Besides the mics, are there any desired locations for audio input into the system throughout the building? If so, where and would you prefer analog inputs or Bluetooth?

No
