About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document clarifying requirements for a federal furniture procurement at Tyndall Air Force Base.
The requirement is for 54 office desks measuring 48" × 24" in basic shell configuration (top with legs/modesty panel only, no drawers or pedestals). Desks must include permanently attached keyboard trays and cord holes. All furniture must be finished in white oak with white/gray color schemes across the site, and metal components (keyboard trays) must be black. The contractor does not need to be an authorized Tier II OWF small-business dealer, nor may it serve as a small-business prime and procure through a Tier II dealer partner. Solid hardwood furniture in American species such as oak, maple, ash, cherry, birch, and walnut are acceptable. The desks do not require locking casters, and a reference desk image is provided showing a light-colored wood desk with cord access covers and pullout keyboard holder. Delivery to Building 9460 is ground-floor accessible. The scope is limited to the 54 desks only, as referenced discrepancies in the Statement of Work regarding foldable training tables and chairs were due to requirements being split prior to contracting. No specific manufacturer or model is required; furniture must match existing site furnishings in finish and color scheme.

Questions and Answers
1. Is the 48″ × 24″ Office Desk required to be a basic shell only (top + legs/modesty panel), or must it include drawers/pedestal storage?
Basic shell only.
2. If drawers or pedestals are required, please specify the exact configuration (e.g., single pedestal, dual pedestal, number of drawers, left/right orientation).
NA
3. What specific color(s) or finish(es) are required for the work surface and any metal components so the desks coordinate with the renovated facility finishes and existing furniture?
Most of the furniture is coming in with a white oak finish which we would like to stick with for continuity. Metal components would be the keyboard/mouse tray.
4. The SOW requires locking casters on mobile items — are the Office Desks considered mobile items that must include locking casters? If yes, please specify quantity, size, and type.
No.
5. Is a photo, drawing, or current model/part number of the preferred or existing desk available for reference?
We are requesting a desk light in color with 2 covers on top for cord access and an underneath pullout keyboard holder. 48″ × 24″ basic shell.
Above is the current desk but no current model/part number is available.
6. Scope: CLIN 0001 only lists 54 desks. Section 3.1 of the SOW, however, mentions "foldable training tables and chairs." Please confirm if chairs and transport dollies are part of this requirement, or if the scope is limited to the 54 desks.
Apologies, that SOW was written prior to the splitting of the requirements per contracting.
7. Delivery: Please confirm if delivery to Building 9460 is ground-floor accessible, or if vendors must account for stairs/elevators for the delivery and installation.
Ground floor accessible
8. Must contractor itself be an authorized Tier II OWF small-business dealer to submit an offer under this solicitation?
No
9. Alternatively, may contractor serve as the small-business prime contractor and procure the required furniture through an authorized Tier II OWF dealer/manufacturer partner or subcontractor?
No
10. If contractor may utilize an authorized Tier II dealer as part of its supply chain, please provide or identify the current authorized Tier II OWF dealers applicable to Tyndall AFB.
N/A
11. The SOW does not specify a particular color or manufacturer. It mentions that the new furniture should try to match the existing/current furniture.
We have existing furnishings that we are moving towards across the site in white oak.
Color schemes across the site are going to the white/gray colors. Metal portions are black.
12. Could you please confirm the required color/finish and whether there is a specific manufacturer or model that should be matched?
There is no specific model/manufacturer. See above answers for finishes/colors.
13. The SOW also references keyboard trays and metal pedestals. Could you please confirm whether these items are required as part of the furniture?
Yes, keyboard trays are required. There are no pedestals on the desk.
14. If keyboard trays and metal pedestals are required, please confirm whether they need to be mobile/movable or permanently attached.
Keyboard trays are permanently attached.
15. Are you all accepting bids for solid hardwood furniture? We offer a variety of American hardwood species like Maple, Oak, Ash, Cherry, Birch, and Walnut.
Yes.
16. Do the wood desks need to have any specific design modifications like keyboard trays, cord holes, drawers, or casters?
Desks need to have keyboard trays and cord holes.
17. Does the wood need to be a certain color? We have a variety of stains options but can also finish the desks with a clear poly.
See question 12 for finishes.
18. Does your End User want to use a table with keyboard tray or desk shell with keyboard tray?
No. We require a desk shell with Keyboard tray. Not a table with keyboard tray
19. If a table is preferred. Do they want it on casters? Does it need to be nesting?
NA
