About this file
The document is a Questions & Answers file for a Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command solicitation (FA481425TF025) for a Shade System Fabric TARP. The Q&A document covers technical specifications and installation details for a tarp system, including key points such as the fabric being high-density polyethylene with UV stabilization, recommended wind speed tolerances of 75 mph (with potential engineering for 120 mph), and a project completion expectation of 1-2 days. The vendor will be responsible for installing the tarp with a cable system embedded to connect to the existing structure.
The accompanying images show a yellow metal frame structure located on a large concrete area, with several military vehicles parked underneath. The structure appears to be an open-sided shelter or canopy framework, positioned in an outdoor setting with palm trees visible in the background. The structure's design suggests it is intended for vehicle protection or staging, which aligns with the tarp installation project described in the Q&A document.

Questions & Answers
1. Did you have photos of the existing structure? (Yes attached)
2. Are we installing the new fabric? (Vendor will install tarp)
3. If yes, what are the working hours? (Not applicable)
4. What is the expectation on project completion? (1-2 Days)
5. The fabric is recommended to be taken down at 75mph. We can engineer for 120mph, but the fabric will not last in those conditions. With higher engineering requirements, this also impact the structure itself. Do you have the as-built drawings? (Not available)
6. Could you provide more specifics on what the “system requires”? Is it a flat panel with grommets along the edges? (System requires tarp with cable system embedded to connect to structure. )
7. In terms of the material “high density polyethylene” is a sold material. Mesh material is typically polypropylene or PVC. Can you provide clarification on this?(High-density polyethylene, UV stabilized woven shadecloth cover)
8. how are you planning on fastening this to the frame? Are you needing grommets in the material to tie down, or pockets for a pipe to ratchet and strap? (Vendor will install tarp to structure)
