Laboratory Analytical Testing – FA481417R0008 Q&A 2
What major components do we want to look for by FTIR?
A. Major components to be identified from pulled samples using FTIR test method capability includes but is not limited to:
•Identification of organic, polymeric, and in some cases, inorganic materials including sample composition, additives, contaminants and unknown materials.
B. Based on historic data from the MacDill Hazardous Waste Program, the following components have the highest potential for being identified/quantified during FTIR testing; however, there may be other unknown future testing materials not listed or indicated in paragraphs 1 and 2 below.
1. Organic and inorganic compounds used as solvents like:
•aromatic compounds, eg benzene and toluene.
•alcohols, eg methanol.
•esters and ethers.
•ketones, eg acetone.
•amines.
•nitrated and halogenated hydrocarbons
2. Inorganic compounds found in some paints like:
•cyanates, carbides, and thiocyanates

Is the due date for the reports 10 days from the collection of the sample? If yes, is that calendar or working days? All references to Appendix A show a due date of "As Required".
Yes, due date for the report is 15 working days from collection of the sample (i.e. 3 weeks).
