OPERATIONS SECURITY
1. Operations Security (OPSEC) is a program that protects unclassified yet sensitive information for adversary collection efforts. Sensitive information requires protection from inadvertent or unintentional release or exposure to personnel that do not have a valid need-to-know. Any sensitive information that is discovered, found, or acquired, must be immediately secured and turned over to the listed AF POCs. AF POCs will either contact the unit’s security manager, OPSEC representative, or commander/agency head.
2. Prior to returning vehicles to the vendor, AF personnel will thoroughly check vehicles to ensure sensitive information is not left in the vehicle. As a minimum, AF personnel will check under and between all seats, compartments, under floor mats, seat pockets, and if applicable, trunks. AF personnel will also check nearby trash receptacles to ensure sensitive information is not discarded. Any discovery will be reported to the unit’s security manager or OPSEC representative.
3. If any papers, documents, notes, etc., that indicate, read, or describe the discovered information or material marked as "For Official Use Only", (FOUO), limited distribution (LIMDIS), Export Restricted under Arms Export Control Act, or "Privacy Act", the vendor must contact one of the AF POC’s listed and secure the information until retrieved. Also, official AF or government forms that do not have the above-mentioned markings/caveats may still contain personal identifiable information (PII) such as full or partial social security numbers, date of birth, home addresses, etc. Examples of these forms are TDY orders and medical forms. This documentation/material must also be held and protected until retrieved by an AF official. If there is any doubt about the importance of the information that is discovered, immediately secure it and contact an AF official.
