About this file

This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for Solicitation FA480325Q0041 for a UFR 175 LRS Counting Machine. The document captures technical clarification questions from a potential contractor and corresponding government responses regarding a parts counting machine system. Key details include the machine's intended use for counting small assets like nuts, bolts, and washers, with a requirement to handle multiple item sizes. The government specified that the unload bags should contain 50-100 items, and confirmed that the parts do not interlock, which is crucial for accurate counting. The machine will be installed at two locations in the Logistics Readiness (LRS) buildings at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina, with the goal of improving inventory accountability and asset management through automated, precise item counting.

Contractor Questions and Government Responses

Title UFR 175 LRS Counting Machine

1. Since vibratory feed systems design are dependent on material, weight and speed, (not just size range) We need to know exactly what we are feeding:

• Size (dimensioned engineering prints)

• Material

• Feed rate range (smaller objects will feed faster) – System will just need to reach it target count.

Government Response: This will be used for our small assets such as nuts, bolts, washer, etc..

Our items are multiple sizes hence the size range indicated in the characteristics.

2. Does the shape of the item you are feeding interlock with each other?

Government Response: No

3. E.g. will the parts lock/hang to each other and be counted as one?

Government Response: N/A

4. Is there a size range of the unload bags?

Government Response: 50-100 per bag
