About this file

This document outlines salient characteristics for RFID tags required by the Department of the Air Force Air Combat Command. The specifications call for passive RFID tags that must be compatible with SmarTrack Digital Asset Tracking Software and custom encryption, designed to track Air Force Individual Protective Equipment including firearms, magazines, canteens, Joint First Aid Kits, helmets, plate carriers, and ESAPI plates.

The procurement requires four types of RFID tags in specific quantities: 3,500 blank flexible metal tags (3"x0.1"), 12,000 pre-printed serialized flexible metal tags (3"x0.1"), 2,750 plastic zip tie tags (12"), and 2,500 HID SlimFlex UHF tags (3.25"x0.75"). All tags must use M730 chip or higher, be durable and rugged, support write/read capabilities, password protection, private stealth mode, specific reader integration, and remote kill functionality. The tags must be printable on Zebra ZT411 RFID Metal Printer and include features like matching human-readable numbers and 2D barcodes where specified.
