About this file
This handout outlines base access requirements and acceptable forms of identification for entry to Shaw Air Force Base under the REAL ID Act. The document explains that Shaw AFB accepts driver's licenses and IDs from all REAL ID compliant states/territories or those with extensions through May 7, 2025, except those marked with specific limitations like "Not for Federal Identification" or similar disclaimers.
The handout provides a comprehensive list of alternative acceptable forms of identification across three categories: Federally-issued identification (including U.S. passports, military IDs, PIV cards, and various DHS-issued documents), State-issued identification cards (including REAL ID compliant licenses and Enhanced Driver's Licenses), and other forms (including Native American Tribal Photo IDs and foreign government-issued passports). The document directs readers to regularly check the DHS website for updates on REAL ID compliance status.
