DATE 08142023

PROJECT: VLSB 23-2035

SCOPE OF WORK:

Construction work to replace electrical panel A, fused disconnect and lighting controls for the B912 and masonry and painting as required.

(CLIN 0001):

Background: Building 912 is the Main Shaw AFB Chapel facility. Electrical Panel A is installed outside the Chaplin’s Office in the Corridor leading into the Nave. See Attachment 4-Technical Exhibit 4 - B912 Electrical Layout. Electrical Panel A is a Federal Pacific 100 Amp, 208/120 VAC, 3 Phase panel that feeds receptacles and lighting to the Chapel and adjacent offices. The J & K string of Light Emitting Diode (LED) light fixtures do not have LED light dimmer switches and have been operated with branch circuit breakers in positions 2, 4, 5, and 24. The panel breakers are worn and create a humming noise and is a nuisance to the Chaplin staff.

Electrical:

Refer to Attachment 4-Technical Exhibit 4 - B912 Electrical Layout

• Contractor shall replace or refurbish Electrical Panel A with an appropriate Panel that meets the branch circuit requirements. Contractor has the option to rebuild or refurbish the exiting panel. The objective is to provide a serviceable electrical panel that does not create a buzzing or humming noise.

• Contractor shall replace the Fused Disconnect A that feeds Panel A.

• The Disconnect A and Panel A are rated for 208/120 VAC / 100 Amps.

• Replace feeder cable to the Fused Disconnect A. Replace feeder cable from Fused

Disconnect A to Panel A.

• Install an LED light dimmer control for the string of “J” fixtures in the Nave area.

This string of lights is controlled by breakers 2 and 4 in panel A. One breaker position in Panel A should be sufficient for these LED lights.

• Install an LED light dimmer control for the string of “K” fixtures in the Chancel area. This string of lights is controlled by breakers 5 and 24 in panel A. One breaker position in Panel A should be sufficient for these LED lights.

• Breakers and Fuse interrupt rating shall be a minimum of 22 KAIC.

• Contractor shall assess panel branch circuit loads and balance across the three phases as required.

Masonry:

• Repair and plaster corridor wall where new Panel A is installed as required.

Painting:

• Paint the section of the corridor wall where the new Panel A is installed.

• Paint the wall new raceway, junction boxes, and LED light dimmer control switches which are installed in the Nave area.

• Paint shall exactly match the existing color of the walls in these locations.

Phasing:

• Coordinate all work with the B912 Facility Manager so that religious services are not impacted by power outages or work activities. No work is to be conducted that disturbs religious services at this Chapel.

• Stage and pre-construct all work to minimize facility power outage time that would jeopardize the use of the Chapel for religious services.
