STATEMENT OF WORK
Project Title:
Fort Eustis - Building 950, 1st Floor Carpet Replacement
Project Overview:
This project entails the replacement of carpet tiles on the first floor of Building 950, covering a total area of approximately 29,133 square feet. The areas requiring carpet replacement are marked with square footage in black text on Attachment 1, 'B950 Floor Plans – First Floor.'
Scope of Work:
1. Preparation:
- Coordination: Prior to commencing work in any section, coordinate with the Government Building Manager to allow adequate time for the government to relocate file cabinets, personnel, and belongings.
- Furniture and Cubicle Lifting: Lift furniture and cubicles as necessary to facilitate carpet installation. Be aware of areas with glass cubicles and doors that have tracks; these glass features are approximately 1/8” thick. These areas are identified in Attachment 3, 'B950 1st Floor – SIPR & Furniture Layout.' The contractor is responsible for any damages incurred during installation.
- Carpet Removal and Disposal: Remove and dispose of approximately 29,133 square feet of existing carpet tiles, which are currently adhered to a raised modular floor system.
- Vinyl Cove Base: The existing vinyl cove base will remain on the walls. The contractor will be responsible for replacing any damaged vinyl cove base during installation.
2. Carpet Installation:
- Material: Install Shaw Contract Kasuri Tile (Style Number: 5T046, Color Name: Glint, Color Number: 92496) in the specified areas, as detailed in Attachment 2, 'Carpet Tile Specifications.'
- Installation Method: Follow the manufacturer’s recommended installation method, utilizing a ¼ turn pattern.
- Adherence to Guidelines: Ensure that carpet tiles are installed smoothly and securely, adhering to the Shaw Soil Protection (SSP) guidelines.
3. Project Phasing/Timeline:
- Sectional Installation: Complete the installation in sections as specified by the Government Building Manager, ensuring minimal disruption to the building’s operations.
- Notification: Provide the Government Building Manager with a 15-day notice before beginning work on each section.
- Planning Factor: A planning factor of 1,500 square feet per 8-hour period is recommended.
The Building Manager is open to adjustments if a more efficient phase plan is proposed and coordinated.
- SIPR Box Removal: The removal of SIPR boxes will be coordinated by the Government Building Manager through a separate MICC contract. The contractor is not required to include SIPR box removal in their proposal. SIPR box locations are detailed in Attachment 3, 'B950 1st Floor – SIPR & Furniture Layout.'
Deliverables:
- Installation Schedule: Coordinate with the Government Building Manager to develop a detailed installation schedule with specified completion dates.
- Completed Installation: Properly installed carpet tiles in the designated areas.
- Issue Documentation: Provide documentation of any issues encountered and the resolutions implemented.
Working Hours of Operation:
Monday – Friday: 4:00 PM – 12:00 AM Saturday: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Sunday: No work permitted per building management.
