Questions and Answers

MXG Vindicator Control System

05 August 2022

1. Are there floor plans available Or is there a site visit scheduled?.

A site visit will be held, 11 August 2022, at 09:00 A.M. We will initially at the visitor control center 1940 EP Howe Drive. After a sign in of all attendees there will be overview of the project. Please provide all requests for base access no later than, 09 August 2022, 02:00 PM Local Time. At a minimum, contractors need to submit the name, date of birth, driver license number, state of issue, and address for those attending the site visit that will require base access to SSgt Lance White (lance.white.6@us.af.mil) NLT the date and time above. Contractors are advised to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the start time of the site visit to process through the VCC.

2. Is there currently Vindicator equipment installed in this facility that can be used? There is currently no vindicator equipment installed in the building.

3. Is the Period of Performance negotiable? 90 days is not a lot of time and most vendors are experiencing lead time issues from equipment manufacturers. To allow for long lead time materials the PoP is being extended from 90 day to 180 days. See attached updated PWS, dated 05 August 2022.

4. Is this facility on generator backup power? If yes, can this be used for the 24hr backup? Yes, this facility is on generator backup.

5. Are Scaled Drawings available, if so please post. As-built drawings are available upon request. Due to the large amount of as-builts for the building request must specific which type of as-builts are required (floor plan, electrical).

6. Are Ceilings Suspended? Or Hard Lid?

Offices are suspended (have ceiling tiles with ductwork/wiring above) Hallways and other common areas are hard lid)

7. Are there existing Cable Trays for wiring above ceilings?

Cable Trays should be above ceiling tiles, this can be confirmed during site on 10 August 2022.

8 .Can Existing Wiring be utilized? The available wiring for contractor use is unknown. In accordance with the PWS para 1.3.1 the system needs to function on its own intranet and contractor should price their offerors with the expectation that no existing wiring will be provided.

9. Is a “UPS” required? If so, What Time/Power Duration is required?

The Vindicator system will get its power from one of the building's panels, which will then be tied into the facilities backup generator.

10. Are “Or Equal” Equipment substitutions allowed? Or Equal items will not be considered technically acceptable. Please see the Brand Name Justification that was posted with the solicitation.

11. Is “Plenum Wire” acceptable? The use of Plenum cable should meet the standards for the National Fire Protection Association standard NFPA 90A. See updated PWS section 1.8.1.

12. Is “After Hours Access” for said work, available to contractor at no add’l cost to the Gov’t? The Government can provided after hour access and personnel to escort, provided the Government is given advance notice as stated in para 6.2 of the PWS.

13. What is the height of Exterior Cameras? (If any) There are no Exterior Cameras currently installed on BLDG 8305. The scope of the project is to provide access control to two exterior doors and be able to monitor this access from a centralized location in the building. No real time camera monitoring is included in this project.

14. Please provide/post other “Q &A” requests. All Question and their answers received are included in this document.

15. Please provide a list of equipment to be installed, and the install location on the drawings. The contractor is responsible for providing the equipment that will meet the requirements outlined in the PWS. The PWS has been updated to better define the requirement. As stated above drawings will be available upon request.
