About this file

This is a Questions and Answers document dated 21 August 2026 for Air Force Solicitation No. FA468626QS024 concerning carpet, furniture, and asbestos abatement work at Building B2445 (9 CS B2445), constructed in 1982.

The project requires removal of approximately 4,761 square yards of carpet, 10,800 linear feet of cove base, furniture moving services for approximately 42,848 square feet, and asbestos-containing material (ACM) abatement for approximately 3,300 square feet within a designated control area (clarified from the initial 7,740 SF stated in the Statement of Objectives). The contractor must coordinate with the User and 9 SFS for safe removal, including moving safes from a vault in Room 127 (Wing Comsec Office) under security escort. All desks, filing cabinets, electronics, refrigerators, furniture, and personal belongings must be removed from work areas prior to abatement. Asbestos surveys and floor plans have been provided as attachments. The solicitation references carpet materials that may include discontinued styles; contractors may propose similar styles from other Air Force installations if necessary. Carpet material details and series/style information are available on SAM.gov. Only Room 133 has confirmed asbestos records; other rooms in the control area may require asbestos testing. Offerors must base pricing on the quantities listed in the SF1449 pricing schedule. One site visit was conducted on 21 August 2026, and no additional site visits will be provided.

QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS (Q&A) dated 21 August 2026

9 CS B2445 Carpet/Furniture/Asbestos

SOLICITATION NO. FA468626QS024

Question 1: Can you please provide Asbestos Surveys for each building?

Answer 1: Please see attached.

Question 2: What year was B2445 built?

Answer 2: 1982

Question 3: Can you confirm B2445 is a single layer of flooring.

Answer 3: No, I cannot. We won’t know for sure until the carpet has been removed.

Question 4: Can you please provide the room layout map, like this one I've attached that was posted AED Locations.

Answer 4: Please see attached.

Question 5: Phase 1, Rm 127, Wing Comsec Office, has a vault door to a room that only 2 of us signed in to observe. It has a wall of safes. Who will be responsible for moving these safes? Is there a plan for this vault door to be disabled for us to set up containment and conduct our work?

Answer 5: The contractor will coordinate with the User and 9 SFS; the contractor can remove the safes with escorts from the User watching them do so.

Question 6: Will all desks, filing cabinets, electronics, refrigerators, furniture, and personal belongings be removed from the work areas before the abatement begins?

Answer 6: Please refer to the SON – Furniture Removal and Storage section. Personal belongings will be removed from the work areas.

Question 7: Are floor plans available?

Answer 7: See attached

Question 8: The carpet materials shown have either a code or a color. Some of these are missing the series and/or style. Could the Government please confirm the series/style for each. Some of these appear to be discontinued. If no series style available, should we propose a similar style being used in other AF.

Answer 8: Please see attached in SAM.gov.

Question 9: The SON states that we are to remove ACM in all rooms/office areas in the controlled area - approximately 7,740 SF. On the site visit today we were not able to identify the controlled area. Could you please confirm this area? And could you please confirm that the rest of the carpet removal, 35,108 square feet, would not have ACM and so would not need any abatement as part of the demo?

Answer 9: See attached file name ‘031-ARCHITECTURAL FLOOR PLAN OVERALL AND

CODE DATA’ where the control area is within the green box and the carpet there is approx.

3,300 SF. We only have asbestos records for Rm 133 which is in the control area. The rooms in this area may require an asbestos test. All the other rooms/offices surrounding the green box is new build, which may not have asbestos. The cost for this should be addresses in the “Asbestos

CLINS”.

Question 10: Could you please provide the referenced asbestos survey/report for Building 2445?

Answer 10: Please see attached.

Question 11: It is needed to accurately scope and price the abatement (approx. 7,740 SF of

ACM removal per the SON).

Answer 11: Asbestos area is approx. 3,300 SF.

Question 12: Would you be able to provide a copy of the asbestos survey for the materials scheduled to be removed, if one has been completed?

Answer 12: Please see attached.

Question 13: Additionally, would it be possible to schedule a site visit so we can obtain the square footage of the separate buildings included in the project?

Answer 13: Site Visit was conducted 21 Aug 2026 and another will not be provided.

Question 14: The SON lists approximately 4,761 square yards of carpet, 10,800 linear feet of cove base, approximately 42,848 square feet of furniture-moving area, and approximately 7,740 square feet of asbestos-containing material. However, the quantities shown across the pricing

CLINs appear to total significantly less for the carpet and cove base.

Could you please confirm whether offerors should price based on the quantities listed in the

SF1449 pricing schedule, the total quantities stated in the SON, or if an updated pricing schedule will be issued?

Answer 14: SF1449
