6. Flight line Rd. – At the South end of flight line Rd work area there is a note on the plans stating to replace the ACC with PCC, this is not part of the SOW.
ANSWER: Correct. See revised flight line road plan.
7. It appears that the scope of repaving the Taxiway apron on the above referenced project may require the removal of some Taxiway edge lights and possibly splicing the 5kV circuits through in order to maintain the integrity and continued use of the taxiway edge light circuitry. Attached a marked up drawing for your reference. There is no reference to any electrical scope in the RFP Docs, at least that I can see. Should there be?
Answer: The contractor is required to take steps to protect the lights/circuitry. No need to splice cable/remove lights.
8. Repair C-17 Parking Apron: Do grounding rods and/or tie downs need to be installed in this area?
ANSWER: No
9. Building. 2317: Is there concrete existing underneath the asphalt shoulders? If so, does that need to be removed, or will the contractor be allowed to place 3”/6” section over the concrete?
ANSWER: In some areas near building 2317 there is concrete (PCC) under ACC. The % of pavement with PCC under pavement is to be determined during construction. When paving over PCC, use reflective crack control products/techniques to retard crack formation (geosynthetic matting, saw & seal, etc.).
10. Taxiway A – Shoulder Repair: Is there concrete existing underneath the asphalt shoulders? If so, does that need to be removed, or will the contractor be allowed to place 3”/6” section over the concrete?
