About this file
This document is a Questions and Answers (Q&A) file for a Department of the Air Force Global Strike Command solicitation for an EMI Shielded Tent at Dyess AFB. The Q&A addresses two key technical inquiries: (1) structural design flexibility, confirming that a non-inflatable, rigid-frame shelter can be acceptable if it meets specified performance criteria and MIL-PRF-44423 standards for tent fabric characteristics, and (2) EMI shielding requirements, specifying that the tent must meet MIL-STD-461 standards. The solicitation requires one olive drab EMI Shielded Tent, with technical specifications submissions due by 28 July 2025 at 9:00 a.m. CST, and questions accepted until 23 July 2025 at 3:00 p.m. CST. The government will evaluate offers based on best value, considering price, technical specifications, and delivery parameters.

Questions and Answers Document
1. Structural Design: Would a non-inflatable, rigid-frame shelter be considered an acceptable equivalent to the specified inflatable AirBeam structure, assuming it meets or exceeds all performance criteria (deployment time, footprint, weight, environmental compatibility, etc.)? Specifications are attached.
An equivalent item will be acceptable, so long as it meets standards in MIL-PRF- 44423 regarding tent fabric breaking and tearing thresholds, as well as water permeability and flame resistance we’d need in our operating environment, as listed below:
2. EMI Shielding Requirements: Could you please clarify the specific level of EMI protection required to satisfy the T-SCIF capability mentioned? (e.g., TEMPEST compliance, MIL-STD-461 standards, or any other threshold).
The tent must meet MIL-STD-461 standards.
