About this file

This document is a detailed design specification for furniture and counter layout for the Office Deployment and Readiness (ODR) project at Grand Forks Air Force Base. The specifications include comprehensive requirements for a customer counter, slat display walls, back counters, point-of-sale (POS) stations, and employee exit areas. Key design elements include a rustic-themed wooden counter with varying heights (40" and 52"), an ADA-compliant section, two slat display walls (8ft and 10ft) with multiple display shelves, hooks, and bins, two back counters with cabinets and drawers, and specific requirements for binder slots, trash cabinet, and employee swing gate. The design emphasizes functionality with precise measurements, storage solutions, and a cohesive aesthetic, targeting small businesses, 8(a), HUBZone, and Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned small businesses for furniture delivery and installation.

The document provides extensive visual examples and detailed specifications for each component, including counter depth (32"), height variations, electrical hookups, and specific organizational features like file cabinets, utility drawers, and open shelves. The slat display walls include provisions for 30 key hooks, a whiteboard, and cork board, while POS stations are designed with hanging file cabinets and pull-out drawers. The overall design suggests a modular, flexible workspace with attention to accessibility, storage efficiency, and a cohesive rustic design theme, aligned with the Air Force's requirement for a comprehensive furniture solution at the Grand Forks AFB location.

EXAMPLES:

Customer Counter:

For the counter itself and of these are like the rustic theme that we are looking for (prefer live edge).

We are looking for the counter height to be approximately 40” or standing height. Counter width to be 32”.

We are looking to have the counter include a front wall with counter shelf on top that will be at approximately 52” in height and 12” deep that will sit behind our computers and the main working countertop be at the 40” like the photo below. This will be for 5’ of the 8’ section and then the entire 5 ½’ section. For the remaining 3’ of the 8’ section and the 5’ section that includes ADA they will all be at a height of 40” that won’t include the front wall with counter shelf. (see attached sketch for placement)

Employee Exit: We would like a swing gate like the picture below.

Binder slots: Something like the picture below but part of the counter itself (permanent & built in).

POS Stations: like the picture below but with the features provided previously. File Cabinets should be hanging file cabinets and pull out.

Trash Cabinet:

Slat Display Wall: Freestanding slatwall. Include power outlets for tv and electric hookup.
