Hood and Duct Cleaning

Questions and Answers – 3

Q1: Why is Elkhorn hood #1 only being cleaned every other month?

A1: The 341st Fire Prevention Office has designated the cleaning schedule as conforming to NFPA 96 standards. The schedule remains unchanged.

Q2: I am confused about the Facility Descriptions in section 9, it says the Fire station hood is similar to the MAF hoods. This is not correct.

A2: The description is correct. Please read page 10 of the Performance Work Statement (PWS).

Q3: It says the CDC and Chapel hoods are similar and that both have flat roofs and are accessible from a contractor supplied ladder either of these statements are correct.

A3: Paragraph 9.2. within the PWS has been clarified to remove ambiguous language under Amendment 0003.

Q4: The solicitation also says the hood 2 and 3 are wall mounted at the Dining Facility. This is also incorrect hoods #2 and #3 are 4 hood systems attached 2 hoods long and two hoods wide in a island canopy situation. None of them are wall mounted!

A4: Paragraph 9.3. within the PWS has been clarified to remove ambiguous language under Amendment 0003.

Q5: I believe to the extent that this hood would need to be cleaned quarterly in order to comply with the NFPA96 standards.

A5: The 341st Fire Prevention Office has designated the cleaning schedule as conforming to NFPA 96 standards. The schedule remains unchanged.
