About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document clarifying technical specifications and requirements for a vacuum system procurement related to B-2 aircraft coating applications.
The application involves using vacuum via mechanical suction to apply coatings to the B-2 aircraft. Three separate vacuum systems are required, with each system providing vacuum to two docks. The systems must be capable of forklift movement as fabricated by the manufacturer but do not need to be mounted on separate skids. Each system should include controls and an 80-gallon tank. Inlet air temperature is expected to range between 40-95 degrees Fahrenheit in the mechanical room where the systems will be located. While the air should be clean, a filter over the air inlet is recommended to prevent particulates from entering the vacuum system. The inlet air humidity will fluctuate with mechanical room conditions; if dry air is required, an air water separator meeting the vacuum system's humidity and mercury pounds requirements is recommended.

Text version
1. What is the application?
The application will be using vacuum via mechanical suction to apply coatings to the B-2 aircraft. Please see attachment.
2. Is the inlet process air coming into the vacuum pump dry or wet?
The inlet air humidity will fluctuate with the mechanical room humidity. If the vacuum air needs to be dry, I recommend an air water separator that meets the vacuum systems humidity/mercury pounds requirements.
3. Is the application clean or will there be any particulate in the process air that could be pulled into the pump?
The air should be clean however a filter over the air inlet would prevent any particulates from entering the vacuum system as these systems will be in a mechanical room.
4. What will be the inlet air temperature coming into the vacuum pump?
The inlet temperature will range between 40-95 degrees in the mechanical room.
5. Can you please confirm that they would like (3) individual skid mounted vacuum systems with controls and 80-gallon tank. Would they be interested in going with (1) system to meet all the needs and (1) 100% back up unit?
The vacuum requirements will be three separate systems as one system provides vacuum to two docks. Each system will need to be capable of forklift movement as fabricated by the manufacture. The systems do not need to be mounted on a separate skid.
