4. SPECIFIC REQUIREMENTS:
Resurface activity court under Alpha Warrior rig pavilion (40’ X 50’) and convert into one practice pickleball court. Install 4’ divider net for pickleball. The existing fence and gates surrounding the courts are adequate and will remain.
A. Mobilization to the site
B. Prepare the site – Scrape the court surface of all dirt debris and loose material.
C. Prepare the site – Pressure wash courts for major mildew and debris.
D. Divider Net – Provide non-permanent, rolling 3’ divider net with brakes for pickleball. Net shall be approved by the government before purchase.
E. Sanding – Machine-sand the surface of the court as necessary to smooth and repair any uneven areas including remaining fixtures (e.g. bolts, poles) from previously used equipment.
F. Crack Fill – Apply outdoor court grade patching materials to all low spots and/or cracks to bring each area flush with surrounding gravel.
Patching – Using outdoor, court-grade patch compounds:
A. One application will be made to each low spot/crack.
B. Cover and fill any rough areas of asphalt.
C. The edges of all patches will be scraped or ground smooth so that patches are not visible through the finished surface.
D. Light sanding on edges to smooth down
G. Leveling Course – Apply one coat of acrylic resurfacer with sand over the entire surface of the courts with a broad squeegee according to manufacturer’s recommended coverage rates.
H. Texture and Finish Courses – Apply two successive coats of outdoor-grade filler coat (sand-filled acrylic color coating) to the entire area of the courts with a broad squeegee according to manufacturer’s recommended coverage rates.
I. Finished Color – Will be owner’s choice of any two manufacturer’s standard colors (separate colors for non-volley zone and service area).
J. Lines – Paint one set of regulation 2”-wide white playing lines for pickleball.
K. Clean-up – Remove all excess materials and debris from the job after completion of the work. Repair all portions of the facility damaged during construction, including exterior grounds, to provide a complete and usable facility. If fencing must be removed during construction, it shall be returned to its original state upon project completion.
L. Option 1 – Pour and finish additional 4”-deep slab of concrete measuring approximately 40’ X 4’ on both ends of the existing activity court. Concrete shall not extend past pre-existing fence perimeter.
M. The facility manager must be contacted for coordination before the start of any repairs.
