Questions: “Replace Drop Arm Barriers” at Whiteman AFB, Mo Solicitation Number – FA4625-18-Q-0062
1. Is there a min/max arm height tolerance requirement at both 12th St and ECP 2?
A. Min = 26 “above ground, Max = center distance from ground to mid vehicle height
2. Can we use the existing conduit at 12St/ECP 2 or do we need to install/bore new conduit for each location? SOW says no GFE is to be used. Please clarify.
A. Use of buried conduit acceptable. No Government Furnished Equipment (GFE)
3. Does each location require an Uninterruptable Power Supply (UPS)?
A. Yes UPS required for both. Must be a unit that is protected from weather and elements.
4. Just to clarify, SOW states remote control unit at Bldg 90/12st, is only 1 required?
A. Yes
5. The pull through power box on south side of 12 St barrier will be removed as discussed during site survey. Will a smaller box be installed in its place or will it be moved to the secure side of the fence?
A. Yes removed and new weather proof junction box located inside secure area.
6. Will the existing drop arm control panel in ECP 2 be used or will a new one be required upon barrier installation?
A. Yes existing will be used.
7. Is the safety loop at ECP2 active?
A. No
8. Will Air Conditioning be required in each barrier system?
A. Yes, A/C and heater
9. Electric Drop Arm Crash Beam-Model DACB-ELE-1200 as called out in statement of work does not operate on 3 phase power as per manufacturer. Is a transformer authorized?
A. Yes
a. What is the amperage of existing drop arms? What size breaker (AMPs) on existing system?
A. 120/208 3 phase 30 AMP
b. Concerning said model drop arm, SOW states an electric magnetic locking head device on drop-arm closed end is required. The model called out in SOW from Barrier1 no longer has that option, only the actuator will lock (locks in safe position). Is this acceptable?
A. Yes it is acceptable.
10. What are the opening lengths for each respective barrier?
A. The opening for the Bldg 90/12th St Barrier is 20’, and the opening at ECP 2 is 17’.
