About this file

This Statement of Work (SOW) details a carpet replacement project for Building 520 at McConnell Air Force Base in Kansas. The project requires removing and disposing of existing carpet tiles, rubber base, and adhesive, and installing new carpet tiles from one of seven pre-approved vendors (Milliken, Engineered Floors, Mohawk, Interface Americas, Bentley Mills, Mannington, or Tarkett). Specific requirements include using moisture-proof thermoplastic or thermoset backing carpet tiles no thicker than 0.250", installing 4" high resilient rubber cove base, and adding floor transitions where needed.

Key performance specifications mandate that all work be completed by Certified Floor Covering Installers within 30 days, during normal working hours (7:00 am - 4:00 pm), with furniture moved and returned by the contractor. The installation must comply with Air Force Carpet Program guidelines, include 15% extra carpet tiles, and follow manufacturer's warranty installation instructions. The total carpet replacement area is 2,593 square feet, with 352 linear feet of cove base, and the project is scheduled for September 2025. The contractor must also ensure proper carpet disposal through recycling efforts and leave the site clean and professionally finished.
