About this file

This document is a set of Questions and Answers related to a federal contract opportunity for Cargo Loading Ramps. The key details are:

The contract opportunity is for Cargo Loading Ramps to be used with C-5, C-17, and C-130 aircraft. The ramps must be 36" wide and able to support a maximum axle load of 26,000 lbs or higher, which is required for loading certain equipment like Tugs and MB2 vehicles. The ramps should be configurable to achieve the proper load angle for the different aircraft. While a 21,000 lb max axle solution would be less expensive, the requirement is for a 26,000 lb or higher capacity. The objective is to provide the exact ramp configuration the user has requested rather than a less expensive solution. The solicitation number is FA462124Q0040 and the contracting agency is the Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command.

Q&A

1. I wanted to make sure the 2nd item listed is indeed 48” long. This is very unusual. It is typically 94” long.

• Yes, it is indeed 48” long.

2. The Aircraft(s) being utilized?

• C-5, C-17, C-130.

3. The type of equipment being loaded? ( If the ATTLA Certifications for these pieces of equipment are available it would be VERY helpful)

• See attached Equipment Listing.

4. The load angle that needs to be achieved per the ATTLA Certifications?

• The angle is dependent on the aircraft. That’s why there are 8 ramp sections.

5. Is a 21,000 lb. max axle solution (rather than a 26K) adequate to load the equipment? Is it acceptable to bid a 21K max axle solution? The ramps would still be 36” wide. We also offer a 30K max axle solution, but the 21K max axle solution is less expensive.

• We have to bid for the worst-case scenario of a Tug or MB2 being loaded.

26K or higher is required. (See attached Equipment List)

6. What is the objective here? To give the user exactly what they asked for in order to create the configurations they know they want to create OR to load up the equipment referred to in the ATTLA certificates provided with the least expensive solution that will do the job?

• The objective is to give the user exactly what they asked for in order to create the configurations they know they want to create. The ramps the user requested for would give us the latitude for any configuration for any piece of equipment.
