The purpose of this amendment is to answer questions that came up during the site visit, and to revise the Performance Work Statement (PWS). The questions and answers are on page 2. The revised PWS is attached.

A copy of this amendment must be signed and returned with the contractor’s quote.

Please remember to complete Blocks 8 and 15A, 15B, and 15C of this amendment.

QUESTION 1: Is the forklift government property?

ANSWER 1: Yes.

QUESTION 2: We heard that the customer for mixed glass is closed. What do you do with mixed glass?

ANSWER 2: The contractor is responsible for marketing recyclable materials. If there are no buyers, then the material becomes refuse.

QUESTION 3: How many cages are additional and available for swap out, when some need repair?

ANSWER 3: The numbers shown in Appendix B of the original PWS are the cardboard cages that ere used to support the active workload. Categories have been added to Appendix B to list the spare cages for the spare containers. These are categorized as Spare Large OCC Cages, Spare Medium Hard Top OCC Cages, and Spare Medium Soft top OCC Cages (with plastic lids) There are a total of 12 additional cages that can be swapped out when one of the in use cages needs to be pulled from service to be repaired.

QUESTION 4: Is this where the packaged cardboard is stored (in the warehouse)?

ANSWER 4: Yes, cardboard is stored in the warehouse prior to shipping. A shipment recently went out.

QUESTION 5: What is the process to get third-parties on base to pick up recycled material?

ANSWER 5: It is a process. The drivers must be American citizens. They will need to have an enhanced driver’s license and must be RealID Act compliant.

QUESTION 6: Is this area outside of the building the only place for drop off of wood pallets? Do they get recycled?

ANSWER 6: Yes, the area just outside of the Recycling Center is the only drop off point for pallets. The contractor is responsible for collection, processing, recycling and disposal of reusable wood pallets including pickup of pallets from desgnated collection points. The designated collection points are identified in the PWS (Appendix A-1).
