Amendment 3

1. Is there currently an incumbent providing these services? If so, can you provide the name of the firm?

No, this is a new acquisition for FAFB.

2. Is there a system already ready in place for this requirement? If so, can you provide the name of the product or solution?

No, the Air Force is seeking a new system.

3. Can the government confirm the proposed solution is intended to assess and measure pilots entering SERE specialist training? If not, who is the intended audience?

The solution will assess upgrade students who are training to be SERE instructors.

4. How does the Air Force expect the system to collect information? Will instructors manually input assessments or training results?

The instructors will manually upload the results. The system must also accommodate the entry of prior collected data.

5. Can the government elaborate upon expectations for “development modeling”?

The program will output an optimized course of action to ensure student success.

6. Will the software be used to measure trainee aptitude before undergoing SERE Specialist Screening (SSS) Course or prior to Basic Military Training?

Yes, it will assess SSS course students, not prior BMT individuals.

7. Does the Air Force plan to use this tool to reject trainees that the system projects will perform poorly or drop out of SERE specialist prior to starting specialist training?

Not immediately, but if the results prove reliable then it will be used for this purpose.

8. Could the government elaborate upon the type of software approved for the Air Force Local Area Network (LAN)?

Software must be approved by the AF Chief Information Officer. Note: this is a long, detailed process that can take more than a year.

9. Does the Air Force anticipate using the software during real time training in austere environments or harsh conditions, thereby needing it to function without WI-FI/internet connection?

Yes, offline access will be required.
