STATEMENT OF WORK
TO REMOVE AND REPLACE CUMMINS ISL 425 ENGINE ON KME P-24 TYPE 1
FIRE FIGHTING STRUCTURE TRUCK
13 September 2018
1.0 BACKGROUND
Drive engine on KME P-24 is running on five cylinders, turbo and injectors were replaced with no change. After further troubleshooting it was found that cylinder number 5 had low compression, burnt valves and piston number five had excessive play. Engine replacement was recommended.
2.0 OBJECTIVES
The objective is to remove and replace engine and return vehicle back to service.
3.0 DECRIPTION OF WORK
The vendor will replace Cummins ISL 524 engine with new or remanufactured engine to return vehicle back to service. Vendor will reuse the existing vehicles engine components (ex. starter, turbo, and alternator). The Contractor shall perform all required work within 30 calendar days from date of contract award.
3.1 FULL SERVICE OF POWER DIVIDER
Upon completion of repairs, service engine to manufacturer’ specifications. The Contractor shall provide a standard commercial warranty for all parts, materials, and worksmanship.
3.2 FUNCTION
Upon completion of work, preform an operational test of engine for acceptance by the Government.
3.3 DISPOSAL.
Vendor will dispose of oil, and/or other chemicals according to local, state, and federal regulations.
4.0 DESIRED SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
Individual tasked to perform maintenance must have an in depth knowledge of maintaining, servicing and replacement of Cummins engines.
5.0 PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE / DELIVERY TIME FRAME
Performance period for this contract will be no more than 30 days from the date of award.
5.1 GOVERNMENT TRANSPORTION
The Contractor is required to provide all resources necessary to pickup & deliver the vehicle back to the 30th Logistic Readiness Squadron maintenance facility. The address is located at 1221 California Blvd, B10711, Vandenberg Air Force Base, CA 93437. The Contractor shall coordinate pickup & delivery with the Customer Representative in Section 6.1.

5.2 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED EQUIPMENT
The Government will not provide any Government-Furnished Equipment.
5.3 GOVERNMENT FURNISHED SERVICES
The Government will not provide any services.
