About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document (Amendment 1) for federal contract opportunity FA460826QS026, addressing technical and procedural inquiries from prospective contractors regarding the replacement of water slides and associated equipment.
The government confirmed that the existing pump and plumbing are in working order, and contractors should assume no additional mechanical or electrical work is required beyond installing the existing pump onto the new slide. The government approved modifications to existing anchors, accepting the manufacturer's recommendation to cut existing anchors flush with the deck and install new anchors. For pricing structure, the government agreed to modify the CLIN requirements to allow a single slide price with separately broken-out costs for labor, demolition, and freight, rather than individual pricing for each of the four slides. An alternate design incorporating stairs in place of the existing climbing structure was approved as acceptable. The government specified plumbing capacity of 130-140 GPM at 20 feet of total dynamic head for the replacement slide and provided design drawings, measurements, and layout details as referenced in an attachment. The government clarified that the project scope involves replacing the existing slides with a similar or identical tower and slide combination, indicating that design selection has been completed and contractors should not propose system upgrades or alternative structural materials.

Amendment 1 - Questions and Answers
Question 1: Is the existing pump/ plumbing in working order?
Answer 1: YES
• Question 2: Should we assume in our proposal that no mechanical or electrical work is needed except to install existing pump onto the new slide?
Answer 2: YES
• Question 3: SOW states that we are to install the new slide into existing hardware. It is the manufacturer’s opinion that the existing anchors be cut flush with the deck and new anchors installed. Is this acceptable?
Answer 3: YES
• Question 4: The CLIN asks that the pricing be broken out into each slide. Since this is a standard structure that is built to house all 4 slides, can the pricing CLIN be modified to just a single slide price? Labor, Demo, Freight, Etc can be broken out.
• Answer 4: Yes
• Question 5: The manufacturer can design a similar slide; however, they would replace the existing climbing structure with stairs leading to the slide entry. Please confirm if this alternate design is acceptable.
Answer 5: YES
• Question 6: They require confirmation of the available GPM (gallons per minute) plumbing capacity for the replacement slide.
• Answer 6: 130-140 GPM@ 20TDH (Feet of Head)
• Question 7: They are also requesting any available drawings, measurements, or layout details of the installation area to ensure proper design fit.
• Answer 7: See attachment.
Question 8: Are you looking for a similar tower and slide combination? Or will you be upgrading your existing system to include steel towers, etc.? Have you already completed the design aspect of the project with the slide and tower selection?
Answer 8: We are looking to replace the slides with a similar (if not the exact same) tower/slide combination as the existing structure.
