About this file
This document is an Amendment 2 with Additional Questions and Answers for a federal pool maintenance contract (Solicitation Number FA460825R0007). The document clarifies key contract details including chemical testing responsibilities, maintenance scope, and equipment specifications. Key points include: the contractor will perform initial chemical testing before pool opening, with lifeguards handling subsequent daily readings; all pool components including pumps and chlorination systems must be maintained; the pool shell is concrete; pool painting is scheduled for years one, three, and five of the contract. The contract specifically excludes responsibilities for AEDs, restrooms, and facility signage. The pools include a main pool and a wading pool, with recent probe installations in March and June 2023, and pump/motor replacements in June 2023 and March 2025. The contract uses CLINs X002-X004 for line-item pricing of repairs and maintenance.

Additional Questions and Answers
1. Does the scope require the contracted pool company to perform all chemical tests throughout the day while open having us onsite the entire length of opening, or would we ensure the pool is ready to open, and then the Lifeguard staff take the chemical readings throughout the rest of the day and the pool company be on call? Optimally, the contractor should test in the morning prior to opening, and once opened testing reverts to the lifeguard’s responsibility. However, the Government shall expect contractor performance should chemical levels become outside of various chemical level parameters.
2. Is there a facility AED that falls under the scope of the facility maintenance for the pool company? AEDs are not within this contract’s responsibility.
3. What items/parts are to be included/covered in the "repairs" for both the main and small pool? All components of the pool to ensure continuous operation of the pumps and chlorination systems shall be maintained by the contractor.
4. What type pump and motor repairs are to be included in the line item pricing versus what would be quoted for repair/replacement? This will be dependent upon the recommendations of the contractor for the components in need of repair. The government is providing the line-item pricing via CLINs X002-X004. Is this for the circulation pumps/motors or the chemical delivery feeders, or both? Both
5. Are any bathrooms included in the facility maintenance for the pool company? Restrooms are available but are not a part of the contract for servicing.
6. Can you provide the install date for the pH and ORP probes on both pool controllers? The install date for the wading pool probes was in March as a complete new system installation. The install date for the main pool probes was approximately in June 2023.
7. Do you have records of repairs and pump/motor repairs over the last few years that you can share? The wading pool pump/motor was installed in June 2023. The main pool pump and motor was replaced in March 2025.

8. In the onsite meeting, it was mentioned that the next time the pool would be painted was in year two of the new contract. The cost sheet has the pool painting line item for years one, three, and five. Is the cost sheet correct? The cost sheet is correct.
9. What material is the pool shell made of (i.e. concrete, aluminum, fiberglass, etc.)? Concrete.
10. Would facility signage fall under the financial responsibility of the pool company? Facility signage is not part of the pool maintenance contract.
