FA460824QS019 Pre-Proposal Question Attachment 5

1. Is API 653 going to be a requirement to bid? API inspections are not needed for this style of tank.

Even though the tank might have been built to API standards, they don’t necessarily need to be inspection to those. Since the tank holds water and not hazardous substances, API inspection is not required. The AWWA and NFPA inspections will be sufficient to provide you with all of the necessary information and recommendations for your tank needs.

Answer: Concur, the AWWA and NFPA inspections will be sufficient for this project. We can omit the API 653 inspection requirement as long as the other inspection requirements provides all repairs needed for the tank internally and externally.
