Question Answer
1) Do you want the joints sealed where new hot-mix meets existing concrete or just where new hot-mix meets existing hot-mix?
All joints of new and existing pavements (AC or PCC) shall be sealed.
2) The table of submittals in the Statement of Work includes DelDOT “C” mix asphalt. Please confirm this should be FAA mix.
The appropriate mix is FAA Mix with PG-76-22 binder.
3) When does the Government expect this work to be completed?
As soon as it can be scheduled. The goal is to have it completed while the weather is still warm.
4) Please confirm that bidders are to change/adjust the Bid Schedule item quantities if we feel the provided quantities are incorrect.
The quantities in the bid schedule can and should be changed if the offeror’s estimates differ from those provided.
5) Will the section of Ramp Road within the work area be closed during construction or will at least one lane remain open to traffic during work hours?
Ramp Road (within Phase 1) is included as part of the project.
Only a small portion near the North end of the project will need to be accessible to transit the area.
6) Will any temporary pavement markings be required on the Transient Ramp or Ramp Road?
All permanent pavement markings shall be completed on the new pavement prior to final acceptance. No temporary markings are required.
7) How should the contractors plan to access the site and by what route? Will an access card or pin be required? Will the government provide escorts as needed to and from the site?
