26 August 2011 MEMORANDUM FOR Prospective Offerors
FROM: 436 CONS/LGCA
639 Atlantic Street Dover Air Force Base, Delaware l9902-5639
SUBJECT: FA4497-11-R-0010, Construct Addition/Epoxy Floor Coating at Dover Air Force Base, Delaware
1. The following question was asked by a prospective offeror and is answered by this office:
QUESTION: Section 09 65 00 Resilient Flooring refers to existing vinyl composition tile removal – are we to assume there is no asbestos in this contract on removal of the vinyl tile?
ANSWER: The government will test any existing VCT flooring that has to be removed. It will only be part of the contract for removal if the test results indicate there is no asbestos present. If the test result comes back positive, the government will have it removed. The Epoxy Floor Contract does not include any removal of lead paint or asbestos floor tile.
