FA448424Q0031 - Virtual Reality Welder Simulator – Questions & Answers

1. Is this requirement a brand new requirement?

A. Yes, this is a brand new requirement.

2. Is it a Lincoln electric product?

A. If the product being submitted by the contractor is a Lincoln Electric product or similar and meets the needs/satisfies the requirement, it will be technically acceptable.

3. If it is a Lincoln Electric product, does the Government want the VRTEX® 360® Single User Virtual Reality Welding Training Simulator on Pallet or the VRTEX® 360+ Dual User Virtual Reality Welding Training Simulator on Pallet?

A. If the product being submitted by the contractor is a VRTEX® 360® Single User Virtual Reality Welding Training Simulator on Pallet or the VRTEX® 360+ Dual User Virtual Reality Welding Training Simulator on Pallet or similar and meets the needs/satisfies the requirement, it will be technically acceptable.

4. Which virtual welding processes do they want the machine to be capable of?

A. GMAW, GTAW, FCAW, SMAW

5. I don't see a SF 1449 within the attachments and it is mentioned that an SF 1449 needs to be filled out. Could you please advise if an SF 1449 needs to be filled out?

A. A 1449 will be utilized and filled out at the time of award.

6. On page 2, past performance is part of the factors and I don't see anything about past performance within the Instructions to Offor. Could you please confirm if past performance needs to be submitted? What will the solicitation be evaluated on?

A. No, ITO has been updated. The criteria that will be evaluated will be Price, Technical Acceptability.
