Reciprocating less than 5 HP
1. Replace compressor oil.
2. Perform operational check of compressor system and adjust as required.
3. Check motor(s) operation for excessive vibration, noise and overheating;
4. Lubricate motor(s)
5. Check operation of pressure relief valve.
6. Check tension, condition, and alignment of V-belts; adjust as necessary.
7. Drain moisture from air storage tank and check low pressure cut-in; while draining, check discharge for indication of interior corrosion.
8. Clean air intake filter on air compressor(s); replace if necessary.
9. Clean oil and water trap.
10. Clean exterior of compressor, motor and surrounding area.
11. Fill out maintenance checklist and report deficiencies.
Reciprocating 5 to 40 HP
1. Replace compressor oil.
2. Perform operational check of compressor system and adjust as required.
3. Check motor(s) operation for excessive vibration, noise and overheating; lubricate motor(s)
4. Check operation of pressure relief valve.
5. Clean cooling fans and air cooler on compressor.
6. Check tension, condition, and alignment of V-belts; adjust as necessary.
7. Drain moisture from air storage tank and check low pressure cut-in; while draining, check discharge for indication of interior corrosion.
8. Clean air intake filter on air compressor(s); replace if necessary.
9. Clean oil and water trap.
10. Clean compressor and surrounding area.
Reciprocating Over 40 HP
1. Check with operating or area personnel for deficiencies
2. Perform operational check of compressor system and adjust as required.
3. Replace compressor oil
4. Check motor(s) operation for excessive vibration, noise and overheating; lubricate motor(s)
5. Clean cylinder cooling fins and air cooler on compressor.
6. Check tension, condition, and alignment of V-belts; adjust as necessary.
7. Check operation of pressure relief valve.
8. Check low pressure cut in and high pressure cut out switches.
9. Drain moisture from air storage tank and check low pressure cut-in; while draining, check discharge for indication of interior corrosion.
10. Clean air intake filter on air compressor(s); replace if necessary.
11. Clean oil and water trap.
12. Check indication lamps or gauges for proper operation if appropriate; replace burned out lamps or repair/replace gauges.
13. Clean area around equipment.
14. Fill out maintenance checklist and report deficiencies.
Centrifugal less Than 40 HP
1. Check compressor oil level; add oil as required.
2. Perform operational check of compressor system and adjust as required.
3. Check motor of excessive vibration, noise and overheating; lubricate.
4. Check operation of pressure relief valve.
5. Clean air cooling fans and air cooler.
6. Check tension, condition, and alignment of v-belts; adjust as necessary.
7. Drain moisture from air storage tank and check low pressure cut-in; while draining, check discharge for indication of interior corrosion.
8. Replace air intake filter, as needed
9. Clean oil and water trap.
10. Clean compressor and surrounding area.
Centrifugal Over 40 HP
1. Check operating or area personnel for any obvious deficiencies.
2. Perform control system check.
3. Lubricate main driver coupling if necessary.
4. Lubricate prelube pump motor and pump coupling, if necessary.
5. Perform operation check of air compressor, adjust as required.
6. Check main driver coupling alignment; realign if necessary.
7. Check compressor and motor operation for excessive vibration, noise and overheating;
lubricate motor.
8. Check compressor scrolls, piping, and impeller housing for all leaks or cracks.
9. Check intercoolers and aftercoolers for high cooling water temperatures or cooling water leakage.
10. Check oil level in compressor oil reservoir; add oil as necessary.
11. Replace compressor oil and oil filters.
12. Record oil pressure and oil temperature.
13. Check compressor for oil leaks.
14. Visually inspect oil mist arrestor, clean housing, lines, and replace element if saturated, if applicable.
15. Check operation of pressure relief valve.
16. Visually inspect discharge check valve.
17. Check oil and water trap.
18. Check indication lamps or gages for proper operation if appropriate; replace burned out amps or repair/replace gauges.
19. Visually check all air intake filter elements; replace if necessary.
20. Replace all air intake filter elements.
21. Lubricate motor.
22. Clean compressor, motor and surrounding area.
23. Fill out maintenance check and report deficiencies.
