About this file
This is a Questions and Answers document addressing clarifications for a mini-split HVAC system installation project. The document provides the government's responses to five vendor inquiries regarding equipment specifications and installation requirements.
The project requires two 3-ton mini-split systems specified as M Series units, which are designed for standard office, classroom, and light duty space applications without 24/7 operation requirements. Installation specifications include wall-mounted indoor units rather than ceiling cassette configurations, with refrigerant line sets requiring protective covers. A 110-volt receptacle at the outdoor unit is not required. Core drilling through walls may be performed during normal business hours, contingent upon advance notification to the Facility Manager/Contracting Officer's Representative to allow for building occupant notification of the work schedule.

Mini Splits Questions and Answers
1. Do they want a 110v out receptacle out at the outdoor units? No need for a receptacle outside.
2. Would they prefer a ceiling cassette unit VS a wall mount unit? Wall mounted units would be preferred.
3. Does the line sets going to the outdoor unit need to in a line set cover or can they be exposed? Cover please
4. Can core drilling through the wall be done during normal hours? Yes, but please notify the Facility Manager/COR(me) so I can notify people in the Bldg that the work will be going on.
5. Please confirm whether the two(2) 3-ton mini-split systems should be M Series or P Series, or provide the minimum required efficiency rating. This clarification is needed because the equipment options vary in price and efficiency. Please use the M Series as we would not require 24/7 operation and the M Series is indicated as a standard product line designed for offices, classrooms, and light duty spaces.
