About this file

This document is a Performance Support Attachment (PSA) for a CM-300/350 Radio Upgrade project at Pope Army Airfield in North Carolina, specifically for the 85th Engineering Installation Squadron. The attachment details precise mechanical and electrical requirements for radio equipment installation in Buildings 179 and 137.

Mechanical specifications include environmental control parameters for three specific rooms, with operating temperatures ranging from 50°F to 140°F and humidity between 10%-80% (non-condensing). Electrical requirements specify four 120 VAC, 20 AMP circuits with L5-20 twist lock receptacles in Building 137's Equipment Room 3, to be mounted on the ladder rack above each proposed radio rack location. The heat emission details for new radio equipment are precisely calculated, with transmitter and receiver units for CM-300/350 radios generating specific BTU outputs in different rooms. The accompanying sketch (PSA Sketch 1) provides a detailed floor layout for the GATR Building 137, Room 3, showing rack locations and electrical configuration.

DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS SUPPORT REQUIREMENTS

Project: CM-300/350 Radio Upgrade, Pope Army Airfield, NC, TMKG-85-2023-00001

1. Mechanical Requirements

a. Design criteria for environmental control: 43 OSS/OSAM must ensure the environmental controls for the buildings and rooms are sufficient to keep all additional communications equipment installed within the specified operating environments.

1) Interior operating temperature and humidity, allowable tolerances and gradients:

BLDG ROOM OPERATING TEMPERATURE OPERATING HUMIDITY

179 801 50° F TO 140° F (10°-40°C) 10%-80% (NON-CONDENSING)

179 Cab 50° F TO 140° F (10°-40°C) 10%-80% (NON-CONDENSING)

137 3 50° F TO 140° F (10°-40°C) 10%-80% (NON-CONDENSING)

2) Heat emission, BTU per hour: The maximum heat emissions listed are for the equipment that will be installed under this project and does not include equipment that is already in place.

BLDG ROOM EMMISSION SOURCE MAX HEAT EMISSION

179 801 CM-300/350 Radios Tx 1,638 x 6=9,828 Rx 409 x 6=2,454

179 Cab RCUs RCU 409 x 2=818

137 3 CM-300 Radios Tx 1,638 x 10=1,638

Rx 409 x 8=3,272

2. Electrical Requirements:

a. Power.

(1) GATR Bldg. 137, Equipment room 3: Provide one (1), 120 VAC, 20 AMP circuit with L5-20 twist lock receptacle, mounted to the bottom of the ladder rack, above each proposed rack location for a total of 4. Each outlet must be on its own breaker. Reference PSA Sketch 1, Sheet 1, Keynote 2.
