Installation of Plunge Pool Equipment
Questions and Responses
Amendment 02 to RFQ FA445220Q0025 established the deadline for any questions and/or requests for additional information as September 11, 2020 by 12:00 PM (EDT). The following 13 questions, with the Government response, were received by the deadline.
Q1. Will the contract duration be increased from 14 days as long as a valid reason is given?
R1. Any request for additional performance time will be evaluated by the Government and given proper consideration. If determined valid, performance time will be increased.
Q2. Will the two pools be set in place by others prior to mobilization of the awarded contractor?
R2. Yes.
Q3. Will the raised floor and stairs be provided and installed by others or is that the responsibility of the awarded contractor?
R3. They will be provided and installed by others.
Q4. Will the awarded contractor be responsible for any exterior wall penetrations for the chiller unit or will that be performed by others?
R4. It will be performed by others. The current construction contractor, Leebcor, is responsible for the exterior wall penetration for the chiller unit.
Q5. Will the awarded contractor be responsible for installing the remainder of the 2 inch copper cold water line to the mechanical closet or will that be performed by others?
R5. It will be performed by others. The current construction contractor, Leebcor, will be responsible for bringing the 2” water line to the closet to be built.
Q6. Will the awarded contractor be responsible for installing the electrical panel box to provide power to the pool equipment or will that be performed by others?
R6. It will be performed by others. The current construction contractor, Leebcor, will be responsible for the electrical panel box to provide power to the pool equipment.
Q7. On the provided drawings Sheet PL102 note 1 states to connect floor drains to pool maintenance system and main drain. Is this connection to be direct or indirect?
R7. The connection is indirect.
Q8. The provided installation guide states that all equipment sitting on the floor must be on a housekeeping pad. Will the housekeeping pads be the responsibility of the awarded contractor or provided by others?
R8. It will be provided by others. The current construction contractor, Leebcor, is showing three housekeeping pads on the provided drawing Plate A-310. The housekeeping pads can be built if equipment is mounted on the floor, or they have said in lieu of providing the housekeeping pads they would put fire treated plywood on the walls if the equipment is to be mounted on the walls.
Q9. Will the optional handrail be included in the scope of work?
R9. No.
Q10. Will the awarded contractor be required to provide adequate ventilation, air conditioning, and dehumidification for the pool room and mechanical/electrical room or will that be provided by others?
R10. It will be provided by others. The current construction contractor, Leebcor, is required to provide adequate ventilation, air conditioning, and dehumidification for the pool room and mechanical/electrical room
Q11. Will the awarded contractor be required to provide payment and performance bonds?
R11. No. This is considered a service requirement, not a construction project.
Q12. Will the awarded contractor be required to provide a bid bond (offer guarantee)?
R12. No. This is considered a service requirement, not a construction project.
Q13. Amendment 001 for this solicitation extended the Offer Due Date from Thursday, September 3, 2020 to Saturday, September 19, 2020. Please provide a time that the offers will be due.
R13. Time offers are due is 4:00 PM EDT.
