About this file
This document is a continuation of Answers to an RFI (Request for Information) related to the Repair Generator and Transfer Switch, B10 solicitation (FA442724R0029) issued by the Department of the Air Force Air Mobility Command.
The RFI Answers Part 2 provides clarification on the generator breaker that is not scoped to be removed, contrary to the initial understanding. The document references the NEC (National Electrical Code) 700.1 and 700.2, which specify requirements for emergency systems. It also includes an attached image with comments to help explain the circuit breaker configuration. The RFI response advises that the generator breaker (MSA-2, 600A, 3P) is not to be removed, and the circuit breaker to be bypassed and labeled as "spare" is MSA-1 (1000A, 3P), which provides power to the fire pump.

Repair Generator and Transfer Switch, B10 RFI Answers Part 2
• After studying you Addendum DWGs. I know it is a late for question. I have completed several projects with backup generators in the last 10 years. What you are say about eliminating the generator breaker in my opinion is dangerously wrong. Mike Holt, I have used for study on many projects he is a recognized expert in the field. Please refer to pages 6 and 7 NEC 700.1 & 700.2.
o The generator breaker (MSA-2, 600A, 3P) is not scoped to be removed. The circuit breaker to be bypassed and labeled as “spare” is MSA-1 (1000A, 3P) which provides power to the fire pump. I attached an image with comments.
