QUESTIONS/ RESPONSE

Solicitation # FA442722Q0055

Question 1 ‐ Please advise the type of soiled laundry/linens‐‐biohazard, contaminated with blood/bodily fluids, urine/feces etc.?

Response ‐ All of the above, all hospital linen is considered bio hazard.

Question 2 ‐ The PWS mentions a not to exceed 8% variance in soiled weight vs. cleaned weight. This seems to be a very low threshold. You can imagine soiled laundry particularly that from a medical center being quite a bit more due to fluids that may be present in soiled laundry. How did that 8% come about?

Response – The Government uses the Industry standard of 8‐10%.

Question 3 ‐ Can I get a picture of the loading dock? I’m trying to determine if a Sprinter van would work for pickup/delivery or if a box truck is needed.

Response – The Government will not provide pictures. A sprinter van would not be adequate to carry 8‐12 of the linen carts. The past has either been a box truck or larger.

Question 4 ‐ Will laundry be pre‐sorted, or do we need to sort? For example, will bedding linens be in specific carts, towels in specific carts, etc. or will we need to sort all items as they will be combined?

Response ‐ Laundry will not be pre‐sorted. It will the vendors responsibility to sort the linen.

Question 5 ‐ Are all the linen included in the PWS government‐owned?

Response ‐ All linens are Government owned.

Question 6 ‐ If all linen is government‐owned, would you be opposed to converting this requirement from government‐ owned linen to contractor‐ owned where we would maintain all linen and replacements of any worn/torn, missing, or damaged items?

Response ‐ All linens will continue to be government owned.

Question 7 ‐ Can you provide the clean linen actuals within the last 2 years?

Response ‐ Clean linen actuals: (Jan ‐ Dec) 2021‐‐‐612,109lbs 2020‐‐‐575,418lbs (covid drop) 2019‐‐‐676,165lbs 2018‐‐‐673,456lbs

Question 8 ‐ Are the 700,000 pounds clean or soiled linen? Is this based on 2022 estimates or actuals?

Response ‐ The 700,000 is based off of clean weight and an estimate.

Question 9 ‐ Can you provide the current incumbent and contract details?

Response ‐ This is a re‐solicitation of contract number FA442718D0003, awarded to 9W HALO Western OPCO.

Question 10 – When do you anticipate on making an award decision?

Response ‐ The Government anticipates approximate award date of 1 Oct 2022, pending availability of funds. Question 11 – Can you share the budget range for this?

Response – The Government will not provide budget range.
