Altus AFB B-225 Fire Alarm/Mass Notification Replacement/Upgrade

RFI

06/30/23

1. Indications from the site visit were that this facility had 1 secure (SCIF) room. What level of protection/isolation will be required for the fire alarm circuits serving this room.

a. We must match the current construction types and sound properties (if using existing conduit and penetrations that are already approved). See DODM5200.001V3/AFMAN16- 1404V3 for construction materials and have designer verify. If new penetrations are being made, confirm with designer about specific inspection and approval requirements that must meet DODM5200.001V3/AFMAN16-1404V3 and ICD-705 standards.

2. Are text displays required?

a. Typically not, confirm with your designer/QFPE.

3. Are heat detectors required?

a. Yes, Altus AFB uses heat detectors and they will be required.

4. Will a Knox box be required to be installed? If not, is there one existing and will it need to be monitored?

a. A Knox box will not be required for installation. Yes, there is one existing. Keyed lock box wiring shall work with existing wiring system. Meaning, the new system should not interfere with the old system (if applicable). If it is not wired already, we do not need to add wiring to it (no new alarms).

5. Will CAD backgrounds be provided once the project is awarded?

a. “CAD backgrounds” is not a common term here at Altus AFB. If the question is referring to CAD as-built floorplans specifically for building 225, we do not have any in CAD.

We do, however, have the complete original hand drawn as-builts that can be provided now if you ask the Contracting Officer for a copy, they will also be sent once the project is awarded.

6. Are we to include the cost to have the design stamped by an FPE?

a. See SOW, section 3.b.i.

7. The due date for B225 quote will be pushed back to 21 July 2023.

8. Please send COMBO to me (joseph.reeves.4@us.af.mil), Cody Nash (cody.nash.1@us.af.mil), Lori

9. I can confirm that Bid Bonds are not required for solicitation.

10. I can confirm you will need to fill out a period of performance in the COMBO.
